A gas detector is a device that detects the presence of gases in an area, often as part
of a safety system. This type of equipment is used to detect a gas leak and interface
with a control system so a process can br automatically shut down. A gas detector
can sound an alarm to operators in the area where the leak is occurring, giving them
the opportunity to leave. This type of device is important because there are many
gases that can be harmful to organic life, such as humans or animals.

Portable Gas Detection System
Portable detectors are used to monitor the atmosphere around personnel and are
worn on clothing or on a belt/harness. These gas detectors are usually battery
operated. They transmit warnings via audible and visible signals, such as alarms and
ashing lights, when dangerous levels of gas vapors are detected.

It is generally used in situations where water from a re sprinkler would damage expensive equipment or where water-based re protection is impractical, such as museums, banks, clean rooms and hospitals.
CO2
Carbon dioxide suppresses re without leaving an agent to damage sensitive equipment. For non-occupied spaces, it is the original CLEAN agent. As there are no agents to clean up, you can resume your activity faster. Co2 agent is particularity useful for hazards where an electrical, nonconductive medium is essential or desirable; where the cleaning after extinguishing the re is a problem or where the hazard obstructions require the usage of gaseous agent. Like – printing press, vaults, open pits, dip tanks, Ovens, Engine Rooms, Coating Machines, Flammable gas or liquid storage area.
ECS (Engineered Central Storage) is an engineered clean agent suppression system designed to protect mission critical facilities and high valued assets. Excellent protection for small, medium and large size application. It can cover variety of application being small, medium or large. Faster reacting than water based system (reacting in seconds). It doesn’t have water, so no damage to equipment or facility. Typical applications can be considered like – Data centers, Control Rooms, Bank Vaults, Simulators, Battery backup rooms.
The weight of discharged nitrogen gas is roughly as same as air, so it remains in the room for longer duration and its extinguishing effects are prolonged. On other hand it is easy to acquire and easy to replace N2 being a natural substance. With dry chemical extinguisher N2 is generally used.
