The United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) was established on March 21, 2007 under the Decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin No 394 on “Join-stock Company “United Shipbuilding Corporation”. The State owns 100% of USC’s shares.

USC is the largest Russian shipbuilding company which accounts for more than 80 thousand people and integrates more than 40 design offices, shipbuilding and ship repair yards. USC’s enterprises are located at all big ports and transport hubs of Russia — from Kali ningrad to Vladivistok and from Severodvinsk to Astrakhan.

In the area from the Baltic Sea to the Pacific Ocean the Corporation emerges as a leader in shipbuilding industry. USC’s share of the Russian export of naval equipment to foreign customers reaches more than 90% and that defines the Corporation as a powerful player in the world market of naval equipment.

Almost all warships designed and built for the Russian Navy as well as for export are results of work done by USC’s design bureaus. The deep-submergence rescue vehicle (DSRV) is an air/rail/road-transportable manned self-propelled deep-water submersible deployed on mother ships (surface vessels or submarines) and intended for rescuing crews of disabled submarines lying on the seabed, as well as for performing the following tasks:- Final detection of an emergency submarine (or other

underwater objects) by DSRV’s sonar equipment (generally with the vehicle guided from the mother ship) and establishing eye contact with it;
