About the corporation 1 3

History of TechnoNICOL

TechnoNICOL was founded. Its first office was opened in Moscow.

Production of roll roofing and waterproofing materials was launched. Vyborg Ruberoid Plant joins TechnoNICOL.

TechnoNICOL develops its own distribution network. The first regional sales office was opened in St. Petersburg.

Kroma Plant (Rybinsk) joins TechnoNICOL.

Reconstruction of the TechnoNICOL plant in Vyborg, resulting in the launch of production of bitumen-polymer materials. They were previously unavailable in the mass construction market of the Russian Federation and the CIS.

The first sales office was opened in Ukraine.

Commissioning of the Technoflex Plant in Ryazan – the most modern Russian producer of bitumen-polymer roll roofing and waterproofing materials.

Minvody-Krovlia Plant (city of Mineralniye Vody) and Tekhnokrom Plant (city of Novou-lianovsk) joined TechnoNICOL. Five more regional sales offices were opened.

The first foreign plant (Gargzdu MIDA, Lithuania) joins the Corporation. TechnoNICOL’s dis-tribution network expands rapidly, and the number of regional sales offices reaches 35 by the end of the year. Intensive development of the company continued through incorporation of factories and sales network into TechnoNICOL Corporation.

TechnoNICOL enters the pitched roof market. A new product – TechnoNICOL flexible roof-ing tiles – was designed and launched. The corporation’s output exceeds 100 000 000 m2 per year, and TechnoNICOL becomes one of the five largest European producers of bituminous waterproofing and roofing materials.

Commissioning of TechnoTOP Plant (Voskresensk, Moscow Region). AKSI Plant (Cheliabinsk), one of the largest producers of mineral fiber heat insulation, joins the Corporation. The first TECHNO-branded insulation materials were produced.

The number of the Corporation’s sales offices exceeds 80. The corporation has branches in all the CIS countries. The first sales office was opened in Warsaw (Poland). NKRZ Plant (Nizhny Novgorod), a producer of modern bonded materials, joins the corporation.

For the first time ever in Russia, production of composite roofing tiles started at Luxard Plant in Voskresensk, Moscow Region. At year-end, TechnoNICOL became the largest producer of roofing membranes in Europe. The first bitumen and bitumen-polymer plant was commis-sioned in Ukraine (Dneprodzerzhinsk). The largest SHINGLAS® flexible roofing tiles plant in Russia was commissioned in Ryazan as a joint venture in cooperation with Chova Company (Spain).

A second TECHNO stone wool production plant was commissioned in Ryazan. Upon commis-sioning, TechnoNICOL Corporation became one of the top three Russian/European leaders in the heat insulation market.

Two extruded cellular polystyrene plants were commissioned (total capacity: 600 000 m3 per year). A mineral wool plant (capacity: 60 000 tons per year) and a roofing materials plant in Yurga (Western Siberia) were commissioned.

A LOGICROOF PVC membranes plant, the pioneer in Russia, was commissioned in Ryazan. New stone wool production lines were launched in Ryazan, Yurga, Cherkassy and Zainsk, new extruded cellular polystyrene lines in Ryazan, Ulianovsk, Mineralniye Vody, Yurga and Dne-prodzerzhinsk. Several plants in Ukraine, as well as the Bitumat Plant (Czech Republic), joined the corporation.

ROOFING WEDGEROOFING WEDGE (fillet) is applied to make an incline of the parapet ina flat roofing. It is designed to provide a smooth passage of the hydro isolation material from the horizontal roofing surface to the vertical par-apet surface. It is installed along the perimeter of the roofing.

ApplicationROOF SLOPING SLABS are used to create a slope enabling to remove water from the roof-ing system to the water release points.A slope is a roof pitch inclination angle to the horizon. Without good slopes, assuring an unconstrained flow of water, a safe roofing system can not exist. To create a roof sloping the slabs are installed along the perimeter with the inclination to the water outlets. In case of a double thermal insulation system the instal-lation is made on the first (lower) layer of the material.

DOUBLE DENSITY SLABSNon-flammable waterproofed heat and acoustic insulation slabs, made of stone wool, on the basis of gabbroic basalt rocks. The slab structure is composite and combines hard (external) and soft lower (internal) lay-ers. Because of layered structure, slabs weigh less and are easy to install. The upper (hard) layer is marked.

Application:TECHNOVENT DOUBLE LAYER slabs are used as one-layer heat insulation of walls. In dis-tinction to the two-layer solution, you do not need to mount the slab’s lower layer, there-fore it requires fewer fittings, can be assem-bled faster and the entire system is cheaper.

TECHNOFAS DOUBLE LAYER slabs are used to insulate, from heat or cold, external sur-face of buildings with thin plaster layer. The slabs insulate heat and are base for the plaster layer. TECHNOFAS DOUBLE LAYER slabs are used for one-layer insulation.

TECHNOROOF DOUBLE LAYER slabs are used to insulate, from heat or cold, roofing struc-tures. The slabs are used under waterproof membrane roofing of roll and mastic materi-als, also without cement-and-sand screeds.

TECHNOPLEX KLIN is the Russian only wedge-shaped slabs set that makes it possible to create slopes and small-angle sloping on flat roofs, increase slopes through re-construc-tion of the existing roof, create small-angle sloping in the neck gutter running to the wa-ter intake holes, near duct shafts and roof lights, through arrangement of an extra slope so as to lead the water away from the barrier wall. TECHNOPLEX KLIN solves the problem of stagnant zones with optimal slopes on the roof. Stagnant zones cause top soil to appear on the roof. And, secondly, multiple and peri-odic freezing-melting of downfall in stagnant zones accelerates early malfunction of the en-tire roof structure.

TECHNOPLEX KLIN

Applications:1. Create roof slopes, increase the slope’s an-gle or change the water drainage route;2. Create small-angle slopes in gutters running to the leader heads;3. Create slopes (back gutters) next to the duct shafts and roof lights;4. Create extra slopes so as to take water away from barrier walls (counter slope).

TECHNONICOL No.01 BITUMEN PRIMER

Priming is necessary for high-quality bonding of waterproofing materi-als to porous, rough and dusty surfaces. TECHNONICOL No.01 bitumen primer prepares (primes) surfaces to be insulated (concrete slabs, cement-and-sand screed) before you lay bonded/self-adhesive roofing and waterproofing materials.

The primer is a solution of high-quality oil bitumens with minimal melt-ing temperature of 80°C in specially selected dissolvents. The primer has high wetting capacity, penetrability and short drying time.

Application:Two classes of material are available:

• Ready-to-use primer applies on the basis immediately, which gives extra convenience and accelerates works.• Concentrated primer needs to be diluted before use, with any organ-ic diluters (petrol, white spirit, kerosene) in volume ratio of 1:1.5 – 1.2. It gives essential savings in use, shipment and storage.

We recommend applying TechnoNICOL bitumen primer onto the work-ing surface with capron brushes or paintbrushes. In this case the primer is smeared into the surface, saturates and strengthens it, which provides for the strong adhesion of the waterproofing with the base.

The coverage ratio of the diluted concentrate or ready-to-use primer is 250-350 ml/m2.

TECHNONICOL No.03 BITUMEN POLYMER PRIMERTECHNONICOL No.03 bitumen polymer primer is a solution of bitumen, polymers and adhesive additives in organic dissolvents. The material dries quickly and protects metal surfaces efficiently from corrosion be-fore waterproofing material is put. After waterproofing material is put, it increases cohesion between the bonded material and the substrate.

Application:• Cover steel orthotropic slabs of bridge spans before bonding protec-tion layer is put;• Cover other insulated surfaces before roofing and waterproofing ma-terials are put.

TECHNONICOL No.21ROOFING MASTIC (TECHNOMAST)TECHNONICOL No.21 ROOF MASTIC is a ready-to-use material — oil bitumen modified by artificial rubber, mineral fillers and organic dissolvent. When it becomes dry, it forms a durable and flexible coating and considerably extends the service life of the protected sur-faces.

Application:• Arrange mastic roofs and repair all types of roofs;• Arrange waterproofing protection of struc-tures (foundations, basements, piles and oth-er items buried in soil or touching wet environ-ments);• Arrange waterproofing and anti-corrosion protection of metal surfaces including pipe-lines and car bodies.

Coatings based on TECHNONICOL No.21 roof mastic are highly adhesive to the base and can be used in the wide temperature range. TECHNONICOL No.21 roof mastic is applied onto the treated surface with a paint brush, putty knife or by pouring and leveling.

ACCESSORIES FOR FLAT ROOFINGS

FastenersTechnoNICOL telescopic fastenersA telescopic fastener comprises a plastic element and a special anchor. The fastener fixes heat insulation elements, as well as roof membranes on the galvanized shaped sheet/wooden/solid-cast concrete and other bearing base. If the fasteners are used on profile metal decks, the self-tapping screws must have a tip bore. If the fasteners are fixed on con-crete, drive anchors should be used.

TechnoNICOL railsTechnoNICOL edge rails fix the edges of membrane roofing on the verti-cal surface. Not for use on bent surfaces. The strips are fixed on the base with self-tapping screws. The upper flanges should be filled with the edge sealant so as to ensure complete sealing and to prevent penetra-tion of moisture under the membrane. TechnoNICOL clamping rails fix the membrane along the roofing perimeter and around all outstanding structures. They are used on vertical surfaces where vertical and horizon-tal surfaces adjoin.

TechnoNICOL separating layerTo arrange a protective or a separating layer, glass fiber fabric and geo-textile are used. TechnoNICOL glass fiber fabric (min. 100 g/m2) is used as a separating layer between the PVC membrane and extruded polysty-rene; polyester fiber based layer (min. 70 g/m2) can also be used.

Welding equipmentThe complete offer of TechnoNICOL Corporation includes the entire range of the necessary welding equipment: Leister Triac Drive automatic welding equipment, Leister Triac portable welding machines and a set of heads.

Molded elements for PVC and TPO membranesMaterials prefabricated by molding of TPO or PVC pellets. These ele-ments do not have any reinforcement fibers or reinforcement mesh in-side, which makes it possible to change the shape of an element by heat-ing it and to make it fit the location where it is to be installed.

Water drainage systemsWater inlets are installed in lower locations. They are used to drain wa-ter from the roof. A special extension element ensures tight contact of vaporproofing and waterproofing layers. The heads may have bolted-on flanges or flanges made of the roofing material so as to be welded im-mediately to the membrane roofing. The intake holes may also be heat-ed. The underflow and overflow elements are used to drain water over the barrier wall. They can be made of PVC or TPP and are welded to the membrane roofing. The roof aerator removes steam from the roofing structure which reduces the moisture content in the insulant and other roofing layers.

TechnoNICOL super-diffusion membraneThree-layer microporous membrane. The upper and the bottom layers are non-woven polypropylene fabrics. They form a rigid frame for the “working” interlayer. The interlayer is a polypropylene film. Due to its unique characteristics, it ensures the water steam diffusion and water resistance.

Optima TechnoNICOLsuper-diffusion membraneThree-layer microporous membrane with excellent quality-price ratio. This is a key material for heat-insulated roofs and stud walls of residen-tial cottages.

TechnoNICOL super-diffusion high-strength membraneThree-layer microporous membrane. Due to its durability, the mem-brane is an ideal solution for ventilated facades of high buildings and for pitched roofs. The membrane may serve as a temporary layer for protec-tion against sunlight, wind and precipitation for up to 4 months.

TechnoNICOL vapor insulation for flat roofsTechnoNICOL multilayer polyethylene flat roof vapor-proof film is used to protect roofs against steam from inside the premises. The product has excellent water- and vaporproofing characteristics, which minimizes penetration of water into the enclosures. It is laid on concrete decks or profile metal decks. The product is recommended for use in flat roofing systems.

TechnoNICOL butyl strip bondA strip bond is used for tight bonding of vapor-proof sheets, facade and under-roofing membranes, fixing of film edges on various bases and adjacent structures (pipes, fittings, antennas, etc.). Dimensions: 20x20x0.8mm. The strip bond is produced in Italy and complies with EU safety and environmental standards.
