FivaIco Inc.warrants each metaI valve to be free from defects in material andworkmanship under normal use and service for a period of one year from the dateof purchase.In the event that any defect is discovered which may be covered by this warranty,the owner should contact FivaIco Inc.in writing or by E-mail to this address.The owner may be instructed to return the vaIve at owner's expense to FivalcoInc.or an authorized FivaIco location for inspection.In the case that the inspectionreveals that the valve is defective it will be replaced at Fivalco Inc.'s expense.Replacements shall be shipped free of charge to the owners provided that thevalve was installed in accordance with Fivalco lnc.instructions and in accordancewith the local authority having jurisdiction.To the extent permitted by law this warranty specificaIIy excludes incidental andconsequential damages of every type and description resulting from any claimeddefect in materiaI or workmanship,incIuding,but not limited to, personal injuriesand property damages.To the extent permitted by law implied warranties ofmerchantability and fitness for particuIar purposes are limited in duration.Some states or countries do not alIow excIusions or limitation of incidental damagesso these limitations may not apply to you.This warranty provides the owner with specific Iegal rights and owner may haveother rights,which vary from state to state.

Fivalco Design Requirements

The Fivalco grooved butterfly valve should be connected to the piping system with approvedcouplings or flange adapters. Flow may be from either direction, and the valve may be positionedin any direction.Fivalco butterfly valves have been designed with a slow close hand wheel operator whicheffectively minimizes water hammer. These valves feature minimum flow restriction andpressure loss when in the fully open position.

Installation

When the valves are received they should be handled carefully to avoid breakage and damageto the seating area. Before installation of the valve,clean piping, flange and coupling. Whenthe valve closes hard, it is usually due to debris lodged in the sealing area. Often this may becorrected by backing off the hand wheel and closing again.The valve should never be forced to seat by applying a wrench to the hand wheel as this maydistort the valve components or score the sealing surface.The use of excessive force to openor close the valve violates all warranties whether express or implied.The inlet and outlet pipe adjacent to the valve should be properly supported to prevent excessivestress on the valve body. The valve should not be used to force a pipeline into position as thismay result in distortion of the valve body.Conduit and elecrical connections to the optional tamper switch must be in accordance withNational Electrical Code(NFPA 72)and/or requirements of the local authority having jurisdiction.

Care &Maintenance

Fivalco butterfly valves require no regular maintenance,however, it is advisable to inspect andverify proper operation of the unit annually or in accordance with the authority having jurisdiction.The inspection should include a visual check for leakage at the valve pipe connection andbody to operator connection.Valves should be stored inside and kept clean and dry.Inspection and maintenance should be performed by a qualified inspection service.

Switch Installation

Fivalco butterfly valves are provided with internal supervisory position switches.The tamperswitch operates by a cam connected to the vallve stem.The switch will change position andclose within two(2)full turns of the hand wheel from the fully open position.Switch#1:For connection to the supervisory circuit.Normally closed :2 YellowNormally open :2 RedCommon:2 White
