SmartMEDIFILTER™Our eyes receive not only visible light but also infrared and ultraviolet radiation. Though these do not trigger visual sensations, they are dangerous to the eye itself.Ultraviolet light in particular, being short-wave radiation, possesses great energy that can cause states of photooxidative stress, which may lead to cortical cataracts, conjunctivitis and aggravation of pathologies of the retina.The blue light of ultra-violet radiation also reduces the perception of contrast, with a consequent reduction of visual acuity, greater sensitivity to bright light and glare, as well as longer periods of adaptation.

The use of SmartMEDIFILTER treatments and medical filter lenses is capable of solving these problems by cutting out the blue component of light.

In combination with polarization, available in two versions, Pola Light 65% and Pola Dark 85%, visual performance outdoors is enhanced, with marked compliance in the case of low-sighted patients.

This treatment is available on:! Neutral filters base 6 and base 8;! white or photochromatic monofocal ophtalmic lenses;! white or photochromatic bifocal ophtalmic lenses;! white or photochromatic progressive ophtalmic lenses;! Clip-ons

SmartAPLANAT DUO™SmartAPLANAT DUO is an aplanatic system that is particularly suitable when having to prescribe medium-high magnifications.The system consists of a doublet of two positive flat convex lenses. SmartAPLANAT DUO systems have long been used in measuring systems, as lenses for illumination, since they have the property of shedding light uniformly over the whole surface of the lens, so guaranteeing a high-quality, uniform image free from peripheral aberrations.The lenses are made in 1.80 index to reduce thickness and increase the compliance.The two lenses are mounted on a special CR 39 lenses with thickness between 4.5mm up to 8.5mm. When edged on acetate frame the system appear very thin and aesthetic. The flat surfaces of the lenses face outwards. It is, in fact, well-known that the closer the object the more important it is that the lenses should be as flat as possible.

The SmartAPLANAT DUO is today the one of optical system for patients with low vision that is capable of combining high magnification and a wide field angle (48°).

Available from 2x up to 10x times magnifications.

AssemblySmartAPLANAT DUO is available with a total power (magnification and RX) of Sph. +40.00 Cyl. -2.00 and also with cut off filter.

FramesSmartAPLANAT DUO has the outstanding advantage of offering low-vision patients the maximum freedom in the choice of a frame. The only precaution to be taken concerns the diameter of the system: the assembly centre should guarantee at least 20mm width of assembly and the result will be aesthetically flawless.

SmartAPLANAT™After a long experience in research and development of optical systems for low vision, I have manufactured a new aplanatic and achromatic aid, t a k i n g a d v a n t a g e o f b e s t characteristics of the doublet optical systems. Thanks to the right geometries joined with the choice of two lenses made by different first quality mineral glass, this aid guarantees an excellent quality of the image. The system is constituted by a doublet of 26mm diameter bound together to a support lens in organic material. Comparing to a traditional aplanatic system of 36mm of diameter, the loss of the field is reduces at only 3 characters (on the base of 6x and and cp10). The aesthetic aspect is the best one of its category. The characteristics of Legit Twin can therefore be reassumed:

" aplanatic and achromatic system thanks to MGF components and a compact design;

" breaches resistant thanks to a chemical and thermal hardening treatment;" Multilayer antiglare treatment;" Thin, thanks to a thickness in the center comprised between

o 3,8 mm for the 2X (vs. 9.0 of a traditional aplanatic system)o and 5,85 mm for the 6X (vs. 12.0 of a traditional aplanatic system).

FlatField is not supplied with frame and it is supplied with diopter correction where needed, until a total diopter of Sf. +24.00 and Cyl. –4.00 (sum of diopter and magnification).

Soon this system will be ready until 8X and there will be the possibility to supply it also with nanometers treatment (450nm and 511 nm).It will be possible in SmartBINOcular version for 2.0X, 2.5X and 3.0X.

SmartAPLANAT™

Sistema Aplanatico Acromatico

SmartAPLANAT™ è un sistema microscopico costituito da

un doppietto aplanatico e acromatico ad uso monoculare

già presente sul mercato e progettato dagli stessi tecnici

che oggi fanno parte del pool di progettisti della Divisio-

ne di Ricerca & Sviluppo di Eye Technologies Group.

SmartAPLANAT™ permette di ottenere un confort uni-

co grazie al peso e allo spessore che lo rendono trai più

compatti e meglio preferiti dai pazienti ipovedenti. No-

nostante la sua dimensione, ridotta a soli 26mm rispetto

ai consueti 36mm dei sistemi aplanatici di tipo tradizio-

nale, il campo visivo si presenta ampio. Infatti la perdita

di campo è limitata a soli 3 caratteri (con un sistema di

6,0x e un corpo di stampa di 10cp).

I trattamenti di superfi ci lo rendono inoltre resistente

alle rotture. Tutti i sistemi sono trattati antirifl esso

La gamma di ingrandimenti parte da 2,0x a 6,0x ad interval-

li di 0,5x. A breve saranno disponibili sistemi fi no a 8,0x.

Il range di produzione arriva fi no ad un potere totale (ingran-

dimento e correzione sferica) di +24,00 con Cilindro di -4,00.

SmartBINO™SmartBINO is a pair of prismatic hypercorrection eyeglasses that enable patients with low vision to read at short distances by creating an enlarged image on the retina and with a minimum of convergence strain. Thanks to the use of base-in prisms obtained during the manufacture of the lenses, SmartBINO provides elevated visual performance. The use of medium-index lenses combined with careful design of the frames makes SmartBINO an discreet aid for low vision.They are available also with HMC, multi-layer anti-reflex scratchproof treatment and Macula Coating, a controlled-nanometre filtering treatment. SmartBINO can obviously be customized to suit each patient's refractive needs.They are available in different frames shapes. Our proposal is to offer not only the right devices to the patients, but also offer them the best aesthetic results. SmartBINO are available in 2 different kind of frames:

" Half frame" Full frames

Full frame design are indicated to all patients that require the best visual field available with this device.

SmartBINO is manufactured totally in Italy.The frames is made in acetate or titanium.Acetate frame are made not for injection and this permit to have better quality. The spring hinge give better comfort. Colors are chose in function on actual Italian frame style.Titanium frames are available in gold titanium and natural titanium. All models have spring hinge.

SmartGALILEO™SmartGALILEO 18 is a new Galileian system with a wide field angle. Its 24° field angle makes it suitable in dynamic activities and for viewing TV.SmartGALILEO was created as an infinity viewing system, but the use of special additional cups makes it suitable for viewing comprised between infinity and a distance of 63mm and with magnification of up to 7.2x.

The reading cups are easy to insert thanks to a slot-in system. They are available in +0.50; +1.00; +2.00; +3.00; +4.00; +8.00; 10.00; +12.00; +14.00; +16.00.

The system can be personalized very simply to suit the patient's refraction requirements thanks to special adaptor rings.For assembly is needed a lens in CR 39. This is a plano lens pierced so to take the housing and the system's fixture ring. Specifically for assembly in your laboratories.

SmartGALILEO 18F is a new focusable galileian system useful for far and watching television thanks to his possibility to change the focus distance up to 80 cm.

For greater magnification, also available is SmartGALILEO 25, a 2.5x version and SmartGALILEO 21, a 2.1x version that makes it possible to achieve enlargements up to 10x thanks to a reading cup.As for1.8x, this system can also be customized; it uses the same reading cups and entails the same methods of assembly.

For Reading we have now SmartGALILEO SHORT a new galileian telescope in 2x and 4x with a big field of view and free aberration design.
