Continuous Transfer Systems are used to unload rail cars and convey to silos or usepoints. A vacuum filter with vacuum blower is used for the vacuum portion of thesystem. A rotary valve discharges product from the vacuum filter to the pressuresystem and a pressure blower is utilized to convey product to the system destination.

Dover’s Continuous Transfer Systems are available in permanent, skid mounted ormobile configurations. Materials of construction available are carbon steel, aluminumor stainless steel.

Materials handled include any free flowing powdered, granular or pelletized non-abrasive product.

DOVER EQUIPMENT INC.’s Vacuum/Pressure System is a versatile unit designed to handle either abrasive or non-abrasivegranular, powder or pelletized materials. An air management system controlling the pressure side of the system regulates airvelocity and system pressure to run exactly as the system design requires. This feature allows slower product speeds reducingproduct degradation. Product wear on components is greatly reduced because the material being conveyed comes in contactwith only two moving parts, the inlet and discharge valves. Both valves are designed for abrasive service. Replacement seatsare inexpensive and require only two hours to replace. The Vacuum/Pressure system approach utilizes full blower capacity forboth the vacuum and pressure cycles of the system. This allows longer vacuum legs, if required, for use such as unloading 2or 3 railcars without re-spotting.

OPERATION OF THE UNIT Product is conveyed by vacuum from its source into the vacuum/pressure vessel until it is full as indicated by the level control.The inlet valve closes and blower valves B and C switch the blower from vacuum to the pressure mode. Air enters the vesselthrough the filter media cleaning it and pressurizing the vessel simultaneously. At a pre-determined pressure, the dischargevalve opens, air valve A directs conveyed air to the aeration ring of the vessel and the air management system takes overcontrolling pressure and velocity as designed. When the vessel is empty as indicated by a pressure switch, the system isreturned to the vacuum mode and the cycle is repeated.

Dense Flow ElbowThe Dense Flow Elbow is used mainly when conveyingabrasive materials. Its unique pocket design traps asmall amount of the conveyed material and causes theincoming material to impinge on the material alreadytrapped in the pocket, thus reducing wear. The compact design of the Elbow also makes it easy toincorporate into any system layout, regardless of whether the conveyed material is abrasive or not.

Pellet Receiver

Control PanelThis control panel includes an Allen Bradley SLC501and a Nematron IWS-200 industrial work station.Our software package allows operation of five (5)vacuum blower packages with each operating up to15 pellet receivers. One blower package can operateup to 30 pellet receivers. Programming can bemodified to fit most applications. Standardprogramming allows up to two levels of priority. Thedisplay shows receivers calling, receivers filling andreceivers on/off line. Also displayed is receiverproduct source empty alarm. Adjustable blowernon-use shutdown is a standard feature. All changescan be made from screen. If selected, a four digitlock code prevents unauthorized entry.

Vacuum BlowerA positive displacement vacuum blower packageprovides the air requirement for the system.Accessories include vent valve, second stage inlinefilter, discharge silencer and instrumentation asrequired.

Pulse Jet InLine FilterPulse jet inline receivers are used for first stageblower protection and are available with cartridge orbag type filter media.


Bulk Bag LoadersBulk Bag Loader Model SFScale suspends bag from bag loops for filling.

OperationThe bag is attached to four quick release loop holders and thebag fill tube is slipped over the fill nozzle and sealed dust tightby the inflatable seal. A hydraulic system lifts the bag to the fillposition. Once inflated, filling begins and continues until thefirst set point is reached. The bag is automatically lowered torest on the vibratory platform and vibrates a few seconds tosettle the product. It is then raised again to the fill position andfilled to the final set point. The unit can be supplied as shownor with roller conveyors for moving the filled bag away from theloader.

Bulk Bag LoaderModel PFBag rest on platform scale forfilling.

OperationsThe bag is attached to four quick releaseloop holders and the bag fill tube is slippedover the fill nozzle and sealed dust tight bythe inflatable seal. The bag is inflated andfilling begins. After a few seconds, the bag islifted off the scale by the vibratory table andis vibrated while filling for most of the fillcycle. At the end of the fill cycle, the bag islowered to the scale platform. A dribble feedarrangement insures high fill accuracy at theend of the fill cycle. The bag is automaticallyreleased from the bag loop support.Simultaneously, the bag fill tube is releasedautomatically and the fill frame is raisedautomatically. The fill frame raisesapproximately 10” to allow the bag to bemoved manually or automatically by rollerconveyor.

Fill or bag height adjustment is easilychanged by hand crank on the back of theunit.

This machine is easily adaptable to fill boxes,drums and spin cubes.

The bulk bag is lifted and moved in place by an electric hoist.Once in place, the bag is supported by a structural tablemounted on vibration isolators. An electric or air vibrator isused to aid in product discharge from the bag into thecollection hopper. A glove box is used to remove the drawstring on the bottom of the bag.

The collection hopper can discharge into a rotary valve, trayfeeder or volumetric feeder as required.

Rotary Valve

Our RV Valve is precision made with a heavy duty cast body and rugged fabricated rotor.It is designed as a feeder valve for dry, bulk materials in applications where close tolerances arenecessary in demanding high pressure-high vacuum services.Versatile in its use as either a “drop-through” feeder or “conveying valve” with the attachment of a lineadapter in Pneumatic Conveying Systems.

Diverter Valve

The valve is designed to meet specific applications for diverting dry bulk materials in a pneumatic conveyingsystem. It is manufactured from quality castings and precision machining, and contains an injection moldedelastomer body sleeve.

The valve's main operational feature is its resilient sleeve which provides a tight seat for a machined stainlesssteel diverting blade, thus eliminating leakage. Product contact surfaces, excluding the elastomer sleeve, areavailable in cast iron, aluminum and stainless steel.

Options include solenoid controlled air cylinders, limit switches and special designs for product clean-out.Convey line connections are available in standard pipe flanges, victaulic grooved ends, and plain ends forconnecting compression couplings.


Diverter Valve


Plug Diverter

The Plug Diverter Valve diverts material into either of two lines intersecting at an angle of 45°. The valve ismachined to close tolerances so that when material is being conveyed through one leg of the valve, leakage is held to a minimum eliminating contamination in the dormant leg.
