Comparing LED lighting technology to conventional technologiesWhat to expect when switching from conventional lighting to LED:

Tip: Other advantages when switching to LED lighting include major reduction in air conditioning costs due to LED bulbs running at cooler temperature and further reduction of electric consumption due to elimination of ballast use. The majority of LED bulbs no longer require ballasts.

Part number explanation:

Light Color Types (Kelvin Color Temperature)Green Ignite Inc. carries LED lighting products in a variety of color temperatures (light color types). The color of

light is measured in units of Kelvin (color temperature). The lower the Kelvin temperature is, the warmer (or more

yellow) the light is. The higher the Kelvin temperature is, the cooler (or more blue) the light is. A traditional

incandescent bulb is 3,000K or lower, which is what we recommend going with when replacing indoor lamps or

fixtures (with the exception of fluorescent linear or metal halide/pressure sodium bulbs). Please see below the

color temperature chart to help illustrate di�erent color temperatures that are available:

Above: Local supermarket, Chanatry’s, in Utica, NY who’s ownerchose to replace traditional fluorescent lighting with Green Ignite’s long lasting LED tubes (GI-4T8-D34-DLCD). Note on Mutlifunctional LineThese state-of-the-art LED tube lamps can be used in applications with an electronic instant start ballast(simply replace the �uorescent lamps with these LED tubes) or without a ballast (simply by-pass the existingballast and wire directly to 100-277V AC). This is very valuable because it allows the customer to initiallyforgo having to spend time and money to by-pass the ballast. When the ballasts stops working the customercan simply by-pass it instead of having to replace the ballast with a new one. Please check ballast compatibility list.

Note on LED ProtectorDimmable LED Retrofit kits from Green Ignite Inc. are equipped with an LED Protector (overheat protector) component (pictured below), which di�erentiates this product from other “similar” products on the market.

How it works: the LED Protector senses when the junction temperature reaches a threshold of 158o F and slightly dims down the LEDs (normally by 20%) until the temperature lowers to 143o F,making it very safe and reliable. By utilizing the LED Protector, the temperature is normalized beforeit even comes close to being harmful without any interruption in light (the subtle dimming is hardly noticeable).

Please note: most competitive products on the market are only equipped with a thermal fuse, which shuts o� the light completely when the junction temperature reaches a dangerous level (212o F). Retrofit kits only equippedwith a thermal fuse have a potential risk of burning out prematurely and/or causing damage.

Why it is important: in addition to the safety and longevity factors described above, the LED Protector ensuresthat the customer is never left in the dark. The worst case scenario with the Green Ignite LED Retrofit kit(when any chance of overheating is sensed) is that the kits will subtly dim themselves, while competitive productswill shut themselves o� completely potentially creating non-desired and dangerous blackouts.
