Normative references for approval of acoustic and luminous devices for authorized vehicles

Normes de référence pour l'homologation des dispositifs de signalisation acoustique et lumineuse pour véhicules prioritaires

European Directive 2006/28/EC amends, for the purposesof their adaptation to technical progress, Council Directive72/245/EEC, relating to the radio interference (electroma-gnetic compatibility) of motor vehicles (approval ).

Regulation UNECE No. 10 applies to vehicles, components orelectrical/electronic units (mechanically fastened to the vehicleso that they cannot be removed without use of tools or con-nected permanently or temporarily to the vehicle wiring har-ness) with regard to electromagnetic compatibility (approval

).

Electromagnetic compatibility means the ability of a vehicleor components or separate technical units to function sati-sfactorily (immunity) in its electromagnetic environment without introducing intolerable electromagnetic disturban-ces to anything in that environment (emission).

Luminous and/or acoustic warning devices manufactured bySirena S.p.A., intended to be used on authorized vehicles, ful-fil the requirements of the European Directive 2006/28/EC(and subsequent amendments) or of the Regulation UNECENo. 10 and have therefore be assigned an approval number.

Regulation UNECE No. 65 applies to special warning lampsfor power-driven vehicles and their trailers. "Special warning lamp" means a lamp emitting blue, amberor red light intermittently for use on vehicles.It is possible to distinguish devices among:

"Rotating or stationary flashing lamp" means a special war-ning lamp emitting light intermittently all around its verticalaxis (Category T).

"Directional flashing lamp" means a special warning lampemitting light intermittently in a limited angular area (Category X).

"Complete bar" means a special warning lamp with two ormore optical systems emitting light intermittently all aroundits vertical axis.

Special warning lamp could have one level of intensity (class 1),or two levels of intensity (class 2).

La Directive Européenne 2006/28/CE modifie, aux fins deson adaptation au progrès technique, la directive 72/245/CEE,relative aux parasites radioélectriques (compatibilité électro-magnétique) des véhicules à moteur et de leurs remorques(homologation ).

En ce qui concerne la compatibilité électromagnétique (ho-mologation ), le Règlement UNECE n° 10 s'applique auxvéhicules, aux composants et accessoires, destinés à êtremontés sur ces véhicules (fixés mécaniquement au véhicule etimpossible à démonter ou à enlever sans outils, ou connectésde manière permanente/temporaire au faisceau de câblage).

Par compatibilité électromagnétique on entend l'aptituded'un véhicule, ou d'un ou de plusieurs composants ou acces-soires, à fonctionner dans son environnement électroma-gnétique de manière satisfaisante sans produire deperturbations électromagnétiques intolérables pour toutobjet se trouvant dans cet environnement (émission).

Les dispositifs lumineux et/ou acoustiques produits par SirenaS.p.A., pour utilisation sur véhicules autorisés, sont conformesaux prescriptions de la Directive Européenne 2006/28/CE (etmodifications successives) ou du Règlement UNECE n° 10, ilsont donc le numéro d'homologation réglementaire.

Le Règlement UNECE n° 65 s'applique aux feux spéciauxd'avertissement pour véhicules à moteur et leurs remorques. Par "feu spécial d'avertissement" on entend un feu émettantune lumière intermittente bleue, jaune-auto ou rouge, utilisésur les véhicules.Par "Feu tournant ou à éclats stationnaire" on entend un feuspécial d'avertissement émettant une lumière intermittentetout autour de son axe vertical (catégorie T).Par "Feu à éclat directionnel" on entend un feu spécial d'aver-tissement émettant une lumière intermittente dans un sec-teur angulaire limité (catégorie X).Par "rampe complète" on entend un feu spécial d'avertissementcomportant deux ou plus de deux systèmes optiques émettantune lumière intermittente tout autour de son axe vertical.Les feux spéciaux d'avertissement peuvent avoir:un niveau d'intensité lumineuse (Classe 1) ou deux niveaux d'intensité lumineuse (Classe 2)

Regulation UNECE No. 65 outlines i.a. specifications that spe-cial warning lamps should comply with in order to obtain theapproval:- general specifications (vibration and water resistance, fre-quency, the "ON" and the "OFF" time, operating temperaturerange, tamperproof..)- photometric specifications (minimum and maximum valuesof the effective luminous intensity)- colorimetric characteristics of the light emitted through thefilter/covers (blue/amber/red) expressed in chromaticity co-ordinates.Luminous warning devices manufactured by Sirena S.p.A.fulfil the requirements of Regulation UNECE No. 65.

Acoustic/construction characteristics (fundamental frequen-cies, sound output, acoustic spectrum etc) of acoustic war-ning devices for priority vehicles (Police, Ambulance and FireBrigade) are stated according to national norms in force. In Italy these characteristics are stated in

Ministerial Decree of the 20th March 1979 (G.U. n. 206del 28.07.1979) for Police priority vehicles

Ministerial Decree of the 17th October 1980 (G.U. n. 380del 12.11.1980) for Ambulance and Fire Brigade priority vehicles

Le Règlement UNECE n° 65 établit encore: - des spécifications d'ordre général (résistance aux vibrationset à l'eau, le temps d'allumage et d'extinction, la plage de tem-pérature de fonctionnement, la protection contre toute mani-pulation inadaptée...) - des spécifications photométrique (les intensités lumineuseseffectives)- des caractéristiques colorimétriques de la lumière émise àtravers les filtres utilisés (bleu/jaune-auto/rouge) indiquée encoordonnées trichromatiques.Les feux spéciaux d'avertissement doivent satisfaire à ces ca-ractéristiques pour que l'homologation soit accordée.Les dispositifs lumineux produits par Sirena S.p.A. sont confor-mes aux prescriptions prévues par le Règlement UNECE n° 65.

En ce qui concerne les dispositifs acoustiques destinés auxvéhicules prioritaires (Police, Ambulances et Sapeurs-pompiers),les caractéristiques acoustiques/constructives (fréquencesfondamentales, niveau de pression acoustique, spectre acoustique etc..) sont établies par les normes en vigueur auniveau national.En Italie les caractéristiques sont établies:
