Most often, the custom water feature designs are part of some of the most stunning and truly inspir-

ing contemporary waterscapes for the Hollywood elite.

But as the recognized top expert and leading installer of custom glass mosaic tile pools and spas, Reed could be anywhere offering his master-ful, artistic skills wherever they might be needed. He could be in Arizona flawlessly applying his mastery at the luxury home

of a prominent sports figure or perhaps across the coun-try in Florida for a pool and spa installation for one of the most successful, chart-topping Billboard songwriters of our generation. pools and spas by Jimmy Reed can be found in every one of the affluent foothill neighbor-hoods that rise sharply in the breathtaking Santa Monica Mountains and quickly become the splashy hilltops that ring West Los Angeles.

In an interesting twist, for one of Reed’s most recent projects the signature design feature was quite literally a signature. This concept we might not hear quite as often, but this signature belongs to one of the wealthiest, most influential and philanthropic business moguls in all of Los Angeles. For billionaire Rick Caruso’s gorgeous new Bisazza glass mosaic tile swimming pool and spa, Reed meticu-lously waterproofed, prepared and sculpted every inch of the substrate to accept the glorious Bisazza Miscele series of glass mosaic tiles in the Luisa Blend. He then custom fabricated Caruso’s stylish signature and made it shine by using Bisazza’s Rivesti-mento (10.306 BIS) 3/8” x 3/8” (10x10mm) Bianco Oro (white gold) glass tiles for the interior of the large scripted “C,” before outlining the entire signature medallion on both sides with

three rows of the Rivestimento (10.301 BIS) Oro Giallo (yellow gold).

This gorgeous, technically advanced pool and spa style surfaced entirely by Reed in Bisazza’s elegant glass mosaic tile was never meant to be

just another project. And on that final morning when the “Marine Layer” had lifted in favor of California sunshine, Reed had artfully installed more than 3,500 sheets of glass mosaic tiles to complete this perfect, modern marvel of

a pool and more. This incred-ibly custom waterscape also features a slightly unique, but nothing short of beautiful ther-apy spa that’s set back from the main pool and accessed by a twisting path of the same Texas limestone used for the

installing of any style of pe-rimeter overflow water feature is a delicate process to begin with in contemporary pool and spa projects. In Brentwood, this luxury custom pool was

about as impressive as they get from its perfect structure, largely unseen technical systems, and Reed’s highly visual artistic and flawless Bisazza installation. The end result was a refined work of art, perfectly circle in shape

for a flush, perimeter overflow pool with scalloped details and two breathtaking wedding cake-style staircase entries adjacent from each other at the shallow end of the pool. The impressive structures cop-ing, deck and planters were all

fabricated from the very same handsome Texas limestone.

Both of the adjacent, dual-entry points feature three elegant steps tiled in the blue toned glass mosaics from the Luisa Blend designed by Bisaz-za, with each one brilliantly defined in shape by three rows of white gold Rivestimento (10.306 BIS) glass mosaics that showcase each stair’s role in a graceful descent. Reed’s use of the white gold glass mosaic tiles to outline the steps turned out to be a remarkably regal highlight of this jewel of a pool in the posh hills of Brentwood.

In addition to the pool, the property also includes a one-acre pond with the raised glass mosaic tile therapy spa that Reed also installed with artistic expertise and special design characteristics, such as his use of the same Bisazza Rivestimento white gold glass mosaics. The equally high-end Bisazza glass mosaic tile radius spa is accessed by following a stone path of the same Texas limestone. The raised spa’s infinity-edge view features the serene pond on this special, multi-acre plot of land in the glamorous Brentwood neigh-borhood of West LA.
