I love you Detric with all of my heart! You were the son that any parent

would ever want to have, and I hope you know that I love you so much

"Bro". I will miss your smiles and talks that we have. You continued to go to

college and you would finish and go back again. You really worked hard at

everything you done, and I am proud of you son!

"Bro", I love you with all of my heart and I hope you know that. You got

your wish, you will be playing in that large marching band in heaven and

leading the drum line through the pearly gates playing the music of joy!

Words cannot express the gratitude we feel toward all of our friends who have consoled us during

Mr. Aldetric “Detric” Tiyrese Oglesby, was born on October 17, 1992 to Mr. Darin Rucker and Ms.

Miyako Oglesby, in Royston, GA. He departed this life on January 21, 2017 in Elbert County, Ga.

Detric was a 2011 graduate of the Elbert County School System, where he was a model student, well

respected by his teachers and peers, as well as drum line section leader for the Elbert County Comprehensive

“Pride in Blue” Blue Devil Marching Band. He also participated in the Symphonic Band and was a part of

the Pep Band for the ECCHS band program.

After high school, Detric attended and graduated from the Athens Technical College with many creden-

tials, namely Diesel Electric System Technician, Diesel Engine Service Technician, Diesel Equipment

Technology, Diesel Truck Maintenance Technician, Gas Metal Arc Welding Technician and Shielded

Metal Arc Welding Technician. Because of his love of automobiles and engines, he worked for Advance

Auto Parts and also PharmaTech Industries. His childhood passion was to become an engineer with CSX

railroad.

Detric loved Auburn Football, Trains, and Gamer on his X-Box 1. He also loved his friends and his

family and he also never met a stranger; to know him was to truly love him. He will be deeply missed

by all who knew and loved him.

Preceding him in death were his paternal grandmother: Mrs. Jeanette Rucker; his paternal great

grandparents: Mr. Claude Ray (Mrs. Essie Mae) Moore; maternal great-grandparents: Ms. Claudette

Oglesby and Mr. B.J. (Mrs. Louise) Fortson.

To God’s keeping, Detric leaves, his father: Mr. Darin T. Rucker; his mother: Ms. Miyako Oglesby,

Chicago, IL; his brother, Mr. Demarcus Rucker, Elberton, GA; his nephew, Master Hayden Rucker,

Lavonia, GA; his grandparents, Mr. Willie (Marie) Hubbard of Elberton, GA; Mrs. Patricia (Thomas)

Fortson; his great grandparents, Mr. A.D. (Davie) Oglesby of the Nuberg Community in Hartwell, GA; god-

parents: Jim and Josie Gaines; his aunts and uncles; Mrs. Jennifer (Greg) Stowers, Ms. Alexia Zellars, Mr.

host of other relatives, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.

I can't believe you're really gone,

I still can't accept it,

Even after so long.

Just the thought of you makes me cry,

I never even got the chance to say goodbye.

I always smell your familiar scent,

It makes me think of all of the times we've spent..

So many things I never got to say,

I never imagined you'd ever be so far away.

You were my brother,

And I loved you like no other.

In my heart you'll always be,

You'll be my guide and help me see.

But now I have to let you rest,

Although without you my world's a mess.

I miss you with all of my heart,

I wish we never had to part.

My Dearest Detric, You gave me 24 years of Motherhood, my son, when Heaven called you

home. Your purpose here complete, God needs you to lead his heavenly

Orchestra, to direct His symphony, and to compose music for Him. You

were my little soldier and put me back on the path I was destined to be on.

I think of you and know that your spirit is with me and that you will reveal

yourself when it is my time.

You are at Peace, my Son…Until we meet again.
