Overview:
This case based neuro-ophthalmology course will feature three guest lectures who will each present a 45 minute lecture on various topics in the early part of the morning. After that, an expert panel forumwill be utilized wherein each of the experts will present cases to each other and audience participation will be encouraged. The facts of each case and the thought process for how to evaluate the disorders presented will be the main feature of this part of the course. Amongst other topics, abnormal eye movements, unexplained visual loss, papilledema and neurologic disorders with visual consequences will be discussed.
Objectives:
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Recognize common neuro-ophthalmology disorders.
• Utilize the patient history more effectively to arrive at a neuro-ophthalmology diagnosis.
• Identify which tests are best suited to a particular diagnosis.
Target Audience:
This course is designed for neurologists, ophthalmologists, and neuro-ophthalmologists.
