The Montecito series vinyl Casement windowoffers the outstanding insulating properties, lowmaintenance, and contemporary aesthetic appealonly vinyl can provide. Available in white or tanhomogenous window frames, Montecito’s durablevinyl exterior will never need painting. The windows will maintain their color and shape and can be constructed to your exact size specifications, subject to engineering review. All Milgard windows are made to order at noadditional charge.

Like all Milgard windows, patio doors and sky-lights, the Montecito series carries a Full LifetimeWarranty to the original single family homeownercovering both materials and labor. CONFIGURATIONS

A casement window swings outward like a door, hinged onright or left side. Casement windows can be used alone or intandem with other Milgard Montecito windows for virtuallyany design specification.

COMPONENTS

FRAMEMontecito is available in a variety of frame and trim choices. The 3-1/4” deep nail on frame is ideal for both New Construction andReplacement installations. We offer a standard nail fin frame forNew Construction, and a block frame with nail fin removed forinsert replacement, welded into the frame, for stucco exteriorReplacement applications.

Frame components are made of a high performance uPVC, rigidpolyvinyl chloride material, custom compounded for superior impactresistance, color retention and weather resistance. The frame andsash corners are all precision mitered and fusion welded for a life-time of air and water resistance.

The Montecito product line meets or exceeds theAAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A 440-05 Industry Specification forWindows and Doors. They are also tested for Forced EntryResistance to the ASTM F588-97 standard, Grade 20 level. Eachwindow is labeled with the NFRC Energy Star performance informa-tion, based on the type of glazing you select.

The 2” pre-punched nail flange frame also has an exterior accessorygroove which allows for optional J-channel trim:

The 2” brickmold is sent separately to the field with the window,and snapped in-place after window installation. The 1” contour and3/4” flat options are welded in place at the factory. All trim optionsare extruded by Milgard and are available in white and tan.

WEEP SYSTEMHollow sill construction and offset weep baffles release anyaccumulated moisture from the sill pockets and help preventblow back, and helps control the water flow caused by acombination of wind and rain.

GLAZING MATERIAL AAMA-approved glazing tape adheres glass to the fixed and ventpanel frames which seals and cushions the glass. Rigid vinyl settingblocks are used to support the unit above the sill, preventing glassshear (glass in the insulated unit becomes offset).

Extruded vinyl glazing (snap-in) bead is applied around the interioredge. “Interior glazing” makes replacement of glazing unit conven-ient; bead is mitered at 45 degree for a finished look. Insulated dualglazed panes have a 7/8" over all glass thickness and are dual sealedequivalent for optimal energy efficiency. All Tuscany™ windows cur-rently meet or exceed EnergyStar® performance in all climate zoneswith a 0.35 u-factor or lower. Specialty glass options are availableupon request which can help achieve as much as a 26% improve-ment in u-factor. Specialty glass options for privacy, noise abate-ment and aesthetics are available upon request.

WEATHERSTRIPPINGTwo continuous rows of weatherstripping around the ventpanel provide a superior weather-tight seal. The first row is aflexible TPE leaf seal that acts as the primary water barrier.The second row is a compression-style, TPV wrapped closed-cell foam, bulb seal that provides exceptional protectionagainst air infiltration.

OPERATING HARDWAREMontecito Series awning and casement windows are produced with a fold down handle for applications involving interi-or shutters, mini blinds or similar. They are coated in white or tanto match frame color.

LOCKING ASSEMBLYA sequential multi point locking mechanism provides added security anda tighter seal along the entire vertical leading sash edge.

SCREENMilgard's exclusive PureView™ screen frames are cambered alu-minum, assembled with rigid nylon corner clips. Screens come stan-dard with matching frame color. Optional finger pull rail on screenfor easy removal. PureView's innovative screen uses smaller diameteryarn, improving the interior view. The finer mesh also reduces theappearance of a screen, enhancing curb appeal. PureView's fiberglasscharcoal screen mesh is strong, durable and easy to replace. Allscreens are under one year warranty.

ENERGY PACKAGESMilgard offers two energy efficiency upgrade packages that offerincreased U-Value performance. 3D™ and 3D MAX™ use the ENER-GY STAR® criteria from each climate zone and utilize materials thatare tailored to each individual climate to increase energy efficiency.The combination of the frame material, product design and glazingunit make up the 3 components of the energy packages. TheMontecito Series receives up to 23% increase in energy efficiencywith the 3D MAX package.

Caution: The use of petroleum based fuels or solvents as release agents instucco wall installations or glass cleaning will chemically attack materials usedin seals and other components, and voids the Milgard Warranty. The use of waxbased release agents is recommended.

Expanding foam for insulation purposes should not be used. Backer rod or loosepacked fiberglass bat insulation is recommended.
