REWE
Automated transport of containers
in a distribution centre.
CASE STUDY
Optimisation of transport processes and buffering of various
loading units (thermally insulated and mesh containers) to the
transport routes with and without washing, taking into account
the types of conveyors. Several transport zones at different
levels, which lead to two end-of-line areas. The integration
of individual devices into a complete automated line.

MANUFACTURER'S CHALLENGES
As a general contractor, Europa Systems has
implemented the advanced transport system for both
thermally insulated and mesh roll containers.
The new system offers the ability to transport within
one single line of conveyors various load units (2 or
more), which have different dimensions, different
weight, different coefficients of surface friction
(bottom of load: plastic, metal). While being
transported through 4 zones, they come into 2 areas:
“fruit and vegetables” and “meat”.
SOLUTIONAPPLIED
BENEFITS
The fluidity of the process of loading and unloading
of goods transported with the use of various conveyors.
FLUIDITY OF THE PROCESS
Multi-level lines allow transporting and
buffering of up to 1000 containers.
INCREASED WAREHOUSE SPACE
Automation - system built to work for 20-30 years.
MODERN TECHNOLOGIES
Greater efficiency of warehouse processes.
EFFICIENCY
An alternative also during increased orders or failures.
