CASE STUDY

The ChallengeThe Reitmans loss prevention team realized that it needed a solution for its mobile security managers in the field. Responsible for managing loss prevention at anywhere between 50 to 100 stores, these managers relied heavily on paper forms and faced heavy administrative tasks when visiting each store. They were logging unnecessary hours printing protocols and faxing requisitions to turn their results into virtual records.

Realizing that they needed a solution, Jacques Boucher, Loss Prevention Director at Reitmans, challenged Rogers to come up with a more cost effective, efficient way for his employees to communicate in the field and instantly transmit important data back to head office.

The SolutionRogers recommended Rogers Data Alliance member CyberCat to develop and implement a custom mobile solution. CyberCat’s mobile software allows any business to quickly launch a mobile solution that replaces traditional paper forms with virtual forms on mobile devices. Reitmans deployed the solution with twelve mobile workers who manage all of Reitmans’ 1,000 stores. According to Jacques Boucher, “The solution puts loss prevention managers back where the action is – in our stores.” Using their BlackBerry® devices, these employees are able to electronically manage all their workflow from start to finish, saving hours of data entry time, eliminating paper-based reporting and providing higher service quality and satisfaction.
