Sponsor Interview●Ask your sponsor specific questions that will help you both be clear

about your expectations and daily responsibilities.

●Ask clear questions that give you a picture of what a typical day will be like….

●You don’t want to be three weeks into your internship and find out that you will be filing papers for most of your day.

●Ask your sponsor if you will be meeting with them directly for weekly signatures.

●For more info go to the schoolwires page: http://www.scarsdaleschools.org/Page/2129

Important Things● Complete 30 hours of work per week (including one meeting per week with mentor)

Meet with your mentor weekly for internship or twice for independant.

If you travel more than 1 hour EACH way you can deduct 30 mins from your S.O. hours per day. So if you travel 1 hour to your internship and 1 hour back home 5 days a week you can deduct 2.5 hours total from your internship. This means that instead of 30 hours you are required 27.5 hours.

Have your supervisor/sponsor sign the weekly timesheet WEEKLY and bring that timesheet to your meeting with your mentor. Mentors: Hold on to these sheets and hand them in at the end of the program. Make sure they have 5 days a week 6 weeks for a total of at least 168 hours (excluding holidays/events).

All seniors are required to complete a journal reflection. We ask that each mentor and mentee sit down and create a plan for completing journals. All students must complete a MINIMUM of two reflections each week. See Senior Options Journal Entries to learn more about this part of Senior Options.

AT Classes - Seniors are required to work 30 hours per week; however, students

who plan to sit for AP exams may be entitled to a reduction in hours during the week(s) prior to their exam. Mentors: Make sure they include these hours into their weekly time logs

- Students should refer to the chart on the Senior Options website (http://www.scarsdaleschools.org/Page/2095).

- If a student’s reduction of hours exceeds 30 hours, the student does not report to their Senior Options site that week.
