The 85th Annual El Desfile De Los Niños (Children’s Parade) will take place on Saturday, August 8th at 10am. Young people of Santa Barbara, their parents, and other parade participants don traditional costumes and celebrate the rich culture of the area. The parade proceeds down State St, from Victoria St to Ortega St.

El 85 Anual Desfile De Los Niños se llevará a cabo el sábado 8 de agosto a las 10 am. Los jóvenes de Santa Bárbara, sus padres y otros participantes del desfile se pondrán sus disfraces tradicionales y celebrarán la cultura rica de la zona. El desfile baja por la calle State, desde la calle Victoria hasta la calle Ortega.

Las Noches De Ronda (“Nights of Gaiety”) continue Friday, August 7th and Saturday, August 8th at 8pm at the Santa Barbara Courthouse Sunken Garden. This splendid variety show features music, singing, fiery Flamenco from Spain, and vivid Folklórico dances from many regions of Mexico.

CAUSE Community Organizers stand with a coalition of faith, labor and community organizations at a rally in support of Central American refugee children that were housed at a base in Port Hueneme

CAUSE helped focus the community’s protest of a proposed ICE Detention Facility in Santa Maria in early 2014. The city’s planning commission had to move its meeting to the fairgrounds to accommodate the crowd of over 3,000 who wanted to be heard – the largest protest in Santa Maria’s recent history.
