C.A.S. Project Preps Y6 Students for Upper School On a recent Friday, Dwight’s Y6 students learned about Dwight Upper School rules, public speaking, and faculty thanks to “The Upper School Club,” a C.A.S. project activity of D2 Students Luc Cronenberg, Jacob Done and Martina Castelli. According to Martina, the project goal is to “create a sense of familiarity for the Y6 students going into the upper school, letting them know that the "big boys and girls" school is not that scary and that they will integrate with no problem thanks to the support of the upper school staff, teachers and peer students.” The highlight of the afternoon was an improvisation game that gave the younger students a chance to speak spontaneously on their favourite topics such as sports, cars, and fashion. The project activity consists of 4-5 sessions and the time will be applied to the D2’s C.A.S. 150 required community, action, and service hours. (These hours are completed continuously over their D1 and D2 years). As with all C.A.S. projects, the older students will have to reflect on their experiences in writing.
