10105 Prosthechea cochleata ‘Seibel’s’ x self.This unusual species carries the nicknames of ‘Cockleshell Orchid’ due to the shape of the lip, and ‘Octopus Orchid’ for its tentacled appear-ance. Regardless of the name, you will find this an easy growing and exotic choice. Bloom stems are sequential, usually appearing in the spring and continuing to produce new buds over several months time. 9865 Trichocentrum stramineum.We tried for years to propagate this compact offering before hav-ing success. This species is a member of the Oncidium alliance and has thicker foliage, dubbing it one of the ‘mule ear’ varieties and stays very compact. Sprays of tiny cream colored blooms emerge in late spring. Prefers bright light and warmer temperatures. *L* Near Blooming Size 2.5” pots, $15.95.

10030-10034 Trichopilea suavis.The species name refers to the ‘sweet smelling’ floral fragrance. Clus-ters of pink and white flowers emerge in the late spring and carry the scent of fresh cut roses. M9362 Cymbidium Jungle King ‘Red Rooster’.We consider this one of the finest selections we acquired from Milton Carpenter, of Everglades Orchids. Large growing plants carry several tall stems of brick-red blooms with even darker red lip markings. Very warmth tolerant and an early season bloomer. Cool weather brings out even richer coloring. 9233 Cym. dayanum album ‘Lady Elizabeth’ CHM/AOS x self . We have found that the seedlings of this award winning parent are fast growers and thrive in lower light lev-els than most Cymbidiums, though brighter conditions will increase bud count. Pendant stems of cream and faintly green flowers.
