There shall be a toss by the Umpire at the commencement of each match. The player/pair winning the toss shall have the choice of side or the option to strike first. Should the winner decide to have the choice of side, he shall indicate the same to the Umpire, who shall instruct the loser to sit first. 2. Whoever plays first, or 'breaks,' is always white. The object of the game is to sink all of your pieces, using the heavier 'striker', in any of the pockets before your opponent. Your turn continues as long as you keep sinking your pieces - luck shots count and all combinations are permitted. 3. Break is not considered to have been made if no C/m is touched by the Striker in the usual run or jumping out. In that case, a maximum of two more chances shall be allowed. 4. When placing the striker on the board to shoot, the striker must touch both 'base lines' (see left diagram), either covering the red circle completely, or not touching it at all. The striker may not touch the diagonal arrow line. 5. No part of your body, except your hand, may cross the imaginary diagonal line (wrong in illustration) nor may your elbow protrude over the frame in front of you. Even your feet or knees my not leave your quadrant. 6. While making a stroke, taking support of the Stool or Chair, Stand or Table of the C/B and/or keeping the legs on the rim of the stand/table, by the player, is not permissible. 7. As long as a player pockets his own C/m and/or Queen in accordance with the Laws, his turn shall continue. Otherwise it shall pass on to the opponent. 8. The red piece, or 'queen,' can be pocketed at any time after sinking your first piece but must be sunk before your last one. After pocketing the queen, you must sink one of your pieces, thereby 'covering' it, into any pocket in the next shot, or she is returned to the center spot 9. Once the queen is covered, whoever clears their pieces first wins the 'board'. 10. A game consists of 25 points or eight boards, whichever comes first. 11. Sinking the striker costs you one piece and your turn. But, if you sink a piece in the same shot, then two come up and you shoot again. 12. After sinking the striker, your opponent places the due piece(s) within the center circle. If you haven't sunk one yet, you owe one. 13. If while shooting for the queen you also sink one of your pieces, the queen is automatically covered, no matter which went first.

COMPETITION RULES AND GUIDELINES

14. If while shooting for the queen you also sink one of your opponent’s pieces, your opponent hasthe queen.

15. The value/points are as follows: Queen: 5 points up to and including 21 points. C/m: 1 point each.

16. The number of C/m of the opponent on the C/B shall be the points gained by that player in thatboard. The player is entitled to be credited with the value of the Queen, only if he wins the board. The player who loses the board is not credited with the value of the Queen, even if he has pocketed and covered the Queen.

17. A player shall not take more than 15 seconds for making a stroke from the moment theC/m/Queen/Striker has come to rest and picked up by the opponent and/or after observing the time limit for placing the C/m and/or Queen and/or forgoing Due/penalty C/m, if any.

18. The player loses the advantage of getting the credit of an additional 3 points for covering theQueen, once he has reached the score of 21 points.

19. When a player pockets the C/m of his opponent knowingly or unknowingly, he looses his chanceto play.

20. The player shall not hit, tap, or disturb the C/B willfully or otherwise. If done, a foul shall bedeclared against the offending player as per the Laws.

21. A player shall not distract the attention of the opponent by any act.

22. If a piece jumps off the board, it is placed on the center spot. If pieces land on end or areoverlapping, they are left that way.

23. If the center spot is partially covered when replacing the queen or a jumped piece, the pieceshould cover as much red as possible. If totally covered, the piece is placed opposite the next player behind the red spot.

24. If you sink your opponent's piece, you lose your turn. If you sink their last piece, you lose theboard and three points.

25. If you sink your last piece before the queen, you lose the board, three points and one point foreach of your opponent's pieces left.

26. If the striker does not leave both lines, go again. You get three tries to break before losing yourturn.

27. If there is a tie between players (situations where 2 or more players have won equal number ofgames), the person who has won with more point difference in previous matches will be the winner and he would go to the next round of the tournament.

28. If there is a situation where there is a conflict or question about a particular situation during thegame, TACO has the right to refer to the rules and regulations defined by ICF and come to a decision.

29. Players are expected to be at the court at least 15 minutes prior to the game. If the players fail toshow up the match will be cancelled and the opponent will be declared a winner.

30. Umpire decision is final.

31. Following are the categories:

A. Men’s singles and doubles

B. Women’s singles and doubles

C. Kids singles (Age limit: 15 years and below)

32. Top 2 winners will be awarded by TACO.

33. All kids must be accompanied by their parents during the event.

2. SAFETY - As in any physical sport, there is a risk of injury. Participants are deemed toacknowledge and accept the risks. The organizers cannot accept any liability for damage or injury to person or property sustained by any participant or spectator.
