My Leadership Journey

What is leadership?

Leadership for me is the ability to influence a group of people in order to accomplish a common goal. It is not

necessarily in a formal setting and it is not about titles. I can be a leader in any setting depending on the way I

communicate what I’m thinking and my ideas.

• In order to be heard, listen first

• Listen to other people’s ideas and make decisions with the goal in mind

• As a future engineer, concise and effective communication is an essential skill

• As part of a group, know your strengths and the strengths of your teammates

• Initiative can be a powerful idea but support from the team is essential
