Certificate Program (LEAD)
This two year fellowship program is a nation-wide
educational leadership development program
administered through the Association of American
Medical Colleges (AAMC). The LEAD program is
designed to enhance knowledge, skills, values, and
practical experiences in educational leadership, with
a focus on academic medicine. During the program,
differences between educational administration and
educational leadership are explored, a solid
foundation based in the predominant theoretical
frameworks of educational leadership is developed,
personal leadership style is enhanced, and
leadership concepts and principles at the UF
College of Pharmacy are applied.
January 2011 – May 2012 Master Educator Fellowship
The Fellowship is a formal 18-month program
designed to support the educational development of
selected faculty who have been acknowledged for
their superior teaching skills. Objectives for the
program include understanding of educational
theory, learning innovative educational curricula,
and the culmination of the fellowship through an
individual educational research project.
July 2007 - July 2008 AACP Leadership Fellowship
The program developed personal and interpersonal
competencies for leadership, practical management
responsibilities and administrative competencies of
an academic pharmacy administrator, as well as
leadership in the external arena of advocacy and the
profession. The fellowship was supported by an
ongoing informal program of mentoring and

introduction to leadership roles with our College
Dean. A collaborative group research project
involving proficiency, confidence, and application
of skills following teaching certificate programs was
also completed.
