Dear Friend, This November, California will have an opportunity to call Barbara Boxer home and send a new conservative leader to the United States Senate. That new leader is Carly Fiorina. We are proud to endorse her as a fellow conservative who has real-world business experience and the guts and moxie to take on Barbara Boxer and win.

Carly is not a Washington insider. She is a proven business leader who understands the economy and advocates a strong national defense. And, she is a tough fiscal and social conservative.

This is a golden opportunity for the people of the Golden State to come together to elect Carly to represent them in the United States Senate.

Please join us in supporting Carly’s campaign.Sincerely,

Carly Fiorina proudlysigned the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. As the former CEO of the world’s largest technology company, Hewlett-Packard, Carly knows that higher taxes hurt families, ruin businesses and destroy jobs.

As California’s next United States Senator, Carly will:• Work to lower taxes, control the deficit and cut wasteful Washington

spending.

• Oppose the job-killing Cap and Trade energy tax being led by Barbara Boxer. According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the National Association of Manufacturers, Boxer’s “Cap and Trade” energy tax would “result in a net loss of 3.2 million jobs by 2030 and shrink average household income by $2,100.”

• Fight the government takeover of our nation’s health care system endorsed by Barbara Boxer and President Obama. Carly believes that the key to providing every American family with high-quality affordable health care is to reduce health care costs through com-petition – not by turning our health care system over to government bureaucrats.

• Keep the promises made by signing the Taxpayer Protection Pledge.

Carly Fiorina will protect California taxpayers in the U.S. Senate

Tom Campbell flatly refused to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge arguing, “No one can anticipate every situation that may arise.” (Fox and Hounds Interview, January 19, 2010) The fact is, Campbell has a ten-year record of support for higher taxes and more government spending.

vs.

Carly Fiorina is a proven business leader who will stand up for you against the tax-hungry special interests who have kept Barbara Boxer in Washington for almost 28 years.

As a candidate for Governor – then Senator – in 2010, Tom Campbell:

• Supported a 32 cent tax hike in the gasoline tax to balance the state budget. (San Jose Mercury News, June 19, 2009)

• Supported the $16 billion state tax increase extension on the May 2009 ballot. (San Gabriel Valley Tribune, April 12, 2009)

• Supported a carbon emissions tax. (Orange County Register Editorial, September 30, 2009 )

• Wanted to institute a business receipts tax that would essentially expand the sales tax to include services. (George Skelton Column, Los Angeles Times, October 12, 2009)

As California’s Finance Director in 2005, Tom Campbell:• Was the architect of a disastrous state budget that locked in increased

state spending and larger deficits for years to come. Tom presided over the largest year-over-year increase in General Fund spending in the state’s history – an increase of $11.8 billion. (Governor’s Budget Summary 2009-10, Appendices and Schedules, Schedule 6)

As a candidate for U.S. Senate in 2000, Tom Campbell: • Criticized the Bush tax cuts, calling them “untenable.” Said, “…Bush is

making projections on tax cuts that may have to be rescinded.” (Roll Call, October 12, 2000)

• Supported Taxing Internet Sales. (Debra Saunders’ Column, San Francisco Chronicle, September 3, 2000)
