A Few Words from the President . . .

I take this opportunity to welcome each of our members to the new Exchange Club

year. Most of you know that our administrative year runs from July 1st through June

30th of any calendar year. This year our first official function will be the Summer

Picnic at Carlisle Barracks Golf House on 12 August. This is also the function where

we get to honor our recently departed member, Jim Washington, with the

presentation of back-packs and school supplies for Hope Station. This is indeed a

special event and opportunity to renew friendships that have been on summer

vacation.

As is our tradition to recognize those members that have gone above and beyond, we must recognize

John and Susan Murray, along with Kimberly and Jessica; Dennis and Jody Nielsen; Lee and Helen

DeVenney; and Bill and Jean Yufer for winning the Silver Scoop Award at the 2017 Pressley Ridge

Ice Cream Fundae. This is one of the major fund raisers for Pressley Ridge and supports their

mission of preventing child abuse.

I would once again remind each of you that increased membership is one of our major goals in the

upcoming year. Each of us bears the responsibility to ensure our club is capable of continuing to

support the Carlisle community as we have in the past. Active membership is the corner-stone of any

successful organization. Let every member set the goal of bringing at least one new member into our

fold this year.
