• There have been over 20 glass manufacturers that have opened and closed since 1903.

• The beautiful city of Weston, West Virginia has stunning mountain views and a variety of interesting things to do. Several of the area's attractions highlight the region's rich, glass making history.
• This picture was taken in 1912, shortly after the Art Glass Tile Company closed (4th company to open and close in Weston, WV).

Monarch Tile Company.
• Opened in 1903 and closed in 1908.
• They specialized in the making of glass tile.
Crescent Window Glass, Weston, West Virginia, 1903-1920 This site later became the West Virginia Glass Specialty Company that produced
tableware, barware and stemware until 1987. A visit to the site today will provide you with a view of the ruminants of some of these buildings; the railroad is now Highway
19, the chimneys have been removed, the gift shop of West Virginia Specialty is overgrown with vines and the roof has collapsed

• The "Appalachian Glass Company“ (still open today) manufactures jelly jar candles, 500 plus soda lime crystal products, hand crafted and hand blown stemware as well as assorted novelty items like the infamous witch balls.
