Welcome to the fifth edition of “Caring Plymouth”. This directory of over 60 Christian ministries active in and around Plymouth is compiled by Churches Together in Plymouth as a resource for the church and city. The ministries vary widely and provide specialised services to address many needs. They are the expression of caring and compassion to which we are called.
Christ commanded “Love God with all your heart and your neighbour as yourself.” Christians are called to worship in church and to work in their communities to meet needs, regardless of whether people have a faith or not. The Apostle Paul wrote, “In this life we have three great lasting qualities – faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love.”
It is our prayer that these ministries will be of deep, real and lasting benefit to the people of Plymouth.

South Devon Charity with two projects in Plymouth:
Bath Street: Drop in services for rough sleepers and those experiencing deprivation. Food, clothing, washing facilities, advice, support, medical services, therapeutic services, women-specific services, co-located agencies including 12 Step Fellowships, Harbour Drug & Alcohol, PATH housing support, Samaritans, Eddystone Sexual Health Clinics
Stonehouse Street: Training, employment, fitness and therapeutic hub. Open to anyone wanting to move forward in their lives through accessing programmes, groups, counselling and services. Snack ‘n’ Chat

Soup Run
A community and faith driven service providing free food and hot drinks to homeless, hungry and vulnerable people 365 days a year. Volunteers donate, collect, prepare and serve all across the city. Each night there are four regular Soup Run stops as well as an indoor Soup Kitchen at Shekinah on Sunday evenings

Soup Run Plus
Soup Run Plus is an outreach to sex workers in Plymouth. The team goes out every Thursday evening to serve food and drink as well as providing various items for personal hygiene. We are a caring and compassionate team consisting of around 8 volunteers. We prepare food at Devonport House and head out to the streets at 8pm

Churches Together in Plymouth
CTiP seeks to connect and build unity of vision and mission amongst the Christian churches and ministries across. We maintain a website and regular e-mail updates on relevant city-wide events and information. We run Leaders’ Prayer, quarterly Leaders’ Lunches, an annual ‘City Transformation’ Conference and a Unity Service. CTiP is a gateway for partnerships to develop between the church and city institutions.
