Detailed Biography
Carey Herbert is President for Walton International Group (USA), Inc. (“WIGI USA”), where she provides leadership and
oversight of WIGI USA operations. She is responsible for planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and
directing WIGI USA's strategic goals and objectives.
Carey joined the U.S. Legal team in 2008, bringing to Walton her experience with the Enforcement Division of the Securities
and Exchange Commission in New York City. As part of the WIGI USA Legal team, Carey dealt with a variety of matters,
including securities, immigration, corporate and product structuring. Furthermore, she played a key role in the creation of
financial pro forma and fund modeling for U.S. projects. Carey also assisted with international structured product offerings,
coordinated with the worldwide legal operations of Walton and advised on industry-specific regulations, ensuring appropriate
risk management strategies are in place.
Prior to joining Walton, Carey was a member of the corporate securities department in the Phoenix, AZ office of Squire Sanders,
an international law firm, where her corporate securities transactional practice included private and public company securities
offerings, IPOs, public company reporting, mergers and acquisitions, banking, and financial restructuring. Prior to her legal
career, Carey was a professor in the Eller Business College at the University of Arizona, where she taught business law and
undergraduate and graduate level business statistics. Throughout her academic career, Carey earned fellowships and awards
for distinction in research and teaching.
Carey holds a Bachelor of Arts in Econometrics and an MBA in Quantitative Marketing Analysis from the University of Alberta.
Additionally, she has earned a Master of Science in Business Management, a Ph.D. in Management and Policy, and a Juris
Doctorate degree, all from the University of Arizona.
