  • Chris won a prestigious Yellow Pencil Award from D&AD for fulfilling the Channel 4 brief- LookFour

The Project Brief to create a name, brand identity and advertising campaign for a newover 60s television channel for Channel 4

WHY DID YOU CHOSE TO STUDY

    GRAPHIC DESIGN AT AUCB:

    Loved CD artwork, hated folding

    clothes.

    WHAT WERE THE BEST

    PARTS OF YOUR DEGREE:

The 3rd year, it was a constant

stream of work but it presents

    the opportunity to do valuable

    and potentially authentic

    projects.

    WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO

    STUDENTS CONSIDERING

    STUDYING AT AUCB

    ON THE COURSE:

The one to one tuition is

    unstoppable. They teach

you the basic craft of design:

    typography, layout, book

    making, digital production.

    Most importantly though, they

    encourage you to develop a

    desire to question your work.

    HOW DID YOU GET YOUR

    JOB AT CHANNEL 4:

    The Yellow Pencil Award from

    D&AD helped me score the

Channel 4 gig. But in reality, if I

    hadnt listened to (and rightfully

    fought) the tutors and made

    a consistent effort to develop

    another solution, I wouldnt be

able to do what I am doing now.

    WHATS YOUR TYPICAL DAY:

    Travel > Caffeine > Scribble >

    Research > Talk > Save Work >

    Travel > Sleep (hopefully).

    CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

    Developing a logo for an

    upcoming channel and also a

    campaign for a Derren Brown

    special.

    PLANS FOR THE FUTURE/

    CAREER ASPIRATIONS:

    Move into the Creative Director

    world/perhaps start up my own

    agency (as if London needs

    another).
