RICHARD COX

Richard f irst learned about working for PacSun during a college recruit ing event while at tending Stanford University. In 2007, he joined PacSun as an Assistant Buyer and has grown within the organization to

become Senior Buyer of Printables.

As Senior Buyer of Men’s Printables, Richard oversees a team to develop and manage the strategy behind graphic tees, f leece and tank tops sold in PacSun stores. In addition, he works directly with many of PacSun’s major brands to deliver the Golden State of Mind nationwide.

“PacSun’s vision is pret ty rad,” says Richard. “Bringing California’s lifestyle to the entire country is really excit ing. “ If you are passionate

about the industry, have good ideas and want to make an impact, PacSun is the coolest place to be.”

Richard notes that PacSun is a great place to work because of its entrepreneurial environment where creativity is highly encouraged.

He adds that PacSun has a great leadership team and that it ’s not uncommon for employees to have face time with Gary Schoenfeld, CEO

of PacSun.

Support the Visual Manager in elevating the PacSun merchandise presentation by delivering

clear and consistent f ield communications and visual strategies that reinforce brand consistency.

Collaborate with corporate business partners to drive business strategies, meet corporate objectives

and advance creative processes within the Visual Department.

Primary Duties

• Support the Visual Manager and Merchants on monthly f loorsets to ensure clear visual impact for

each presentation to meet merchant team f inancial objectives and to achieve brand consistency.

• Contribute to the seasonal visual processes for your area of responsibility, including scheduling

key meetings, development of f loorset content and execution of deliverables.

• Collaborate on seasonal window strategies, working with cross-functional teams on sampling,

communication and calendarization of changes.

• Support the Visual Manager and District Manager in the development of f loorset store

management team(s) around merchandising, display and standards.

• Support the Visual Manager in training and providing feedback to f loorset store manager(s) on

merchandising presentation, visual display, and standards.

• Adhere to all deadlines set by Visual Designers on monthly f loorset and visual documents.

• Serve as a contact with the merchandising department for all visual f ield communication regarding

f loorsets, layered buys and testing.

• Write visual directives to ensure accuracy and ease of execution in stores. All directives to

reinforce established visual standards.

• Participate in new store openings.

• Participate in corporate functions, as needed. Functions include: Board of Directors’ meetings,

Quarterly f ield meetings, etc.

• Participate in the creation and maintenance of the visual standards guide and standards tool.

• Support managers on all visual projects including concepting f ixtures and new merchandising

strategies.

• Performs other related duties as assigned

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Experience in the design and manipulation of clothing illustrations in Adobe/Photoshop and

document layouts in Quark preferred

• Ability to work as a team member and independently

• Ability to work well with and through other departments/work groups
