Subaru of Indiana Automotive is celebrating their 30th Anniversary with gifts to the community. SIA has dedicated $30,000 from their foundation for 30 grants of $1,000 each to go to 30 separate, local nonprofits. She earned a bachelors degree from Purdue University in communications & anthropology (psychology minor) this May. Maddie will continue her studies at Purdue working toward a Masters degree in communications. Summer Erin Moon-Walker LUM Intern: Good Samaritan Program, ID Clinic, Immigration Clinic, Campaign for Hoosier Families, Emergency Shelter Erin grew up in and currently lives in West Lafayette with her husband, Aaron, and her two daughters, Lolly (10) & Stevi (7). She earned a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in psychology (communications minor) and is currently working on a Master of Social Work at the IU School of Social Work. LUM Shelter to Benefit from Grants Both the City of Lafayette & the City of West Lafayette recently awarded Lafayette Urban Ministry a significant Community Development Block Grant. LUM was awarded $11,250 from Lafayette and $6,240 from West Lafayette — totaling $17,490. CDBG is an important resource for local governments in their efforts to provide both transitional and permanent housing, as well as supportive services, to families and individuals experiencing homelessness. This grant money will be available on July 1 and will be used to support homeless services and programs at Lafayette Urban Ministry. This past week, Instant Copy...Printing was awarded the first ever Hunger Hike Hero Award. Joe Micon, LUM executive director presented the award to Beth Deaton, production manager at Instant Copy, at an informal ceremony. Instant Copy has been supporting Hunger Hike for over 10 years supplying all of our printing and marketing materials. Their gift to Hunger Hike was vital in helping us surpass our goal and raise over $114,000 in 2016. LUM is urging all SIA associates to “Vote for LUM” in the 30 for 30 grant program.
