DESCRIPTION

“Career Hunter” - an app that aims to give current career advice for young people via Iphone platform was launched by the Assistant Minister for Technical and Further Education this week. The app has been developed through a partnership facilitated by Brisbane South Partnership Broker, Barry Dowling, who created the partnership following a period of research and collaboration with teachers, parents and career advisors which showed a gap around the ease of accessibility for career advice for young people around the country. The Smith Family, Dept of Education, Training and Employment, Dept of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, RDA (Brisbane), Busy at Work and Group Training Queensland are the partners supporting the creation, design, marketing and distribution of the app. Partners have also signed a partnership agreement which will see them working together into the future to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the App. It is hoped that further funding can be secured to develop the app on an android platform in the future. The app can be used by downloading it free from the app store. Support the project by “liking” it on Facebook and spreading the word. More information can be gained by contact Barry Dowling.
