Learning Objective Learning Outcome
• Be able to compare career pathways in a chosen occupational sector.
• Identify and retrieve information from a variety of sources about career pathways in a chosen sector.
• Provide a definition of a career.
• Identify sources to search for job opportunities.
• Use at least three of the sources to research career pathways.
What is a career?
‘It is an occupation that an individual will choose. This may be for a specific amount of time and there may be opportunities to progress.’

TASK- Complete your definition of career in your work booklet.

• Recruitment agencies
Career pathways in different sectors- which sector are you interested in?
• Public Services- emergency services, army
• Health Care Sector- nursing, doctor, care assistants etc
• Education- Early years teacher, secondary school teacher, nursery nurse etc..
• Hospitality and Catering- Hotel receptionists, chef, air hostess etc
• Business and marketing – banking, human resources, data analyst etc..
• Law- lawyer, solicitor, legal secretary
Task
Using at least three of the sources from your list, find information about different career pathways in a chosen sector. Write notes, print out information and include it in your booklet.
