We at CareCo (UK) Ltd know that you have chosen a scooter that will give you years of dependable operation and will also enhance the quality of your life by providing you with the mobility to experience an active daily lifestyle. Even though your new Scootcase is both user-friendly and designed for maximum manoeuvrability in the tightest spaces, we ask that you please read, understand and follow all of the instructions and suggestions in this manual before you operate your scooter for the first time. The safe use of your new scooter is very important to us. If you feel that you do not understand the instructions and suggestions presented in this Owner’s Manual, or if, for any reason, you do not feel capable of performing the activities necessary to assemble, disassemble, operate or maintain your Scootcase scooter, please contact CareCo Customer Services on 01277 237020. I. Preface::::

• This handbook is for the CareCo Scootcase.

• The following symbols are used in the handbook; we strongly recommend that you thoroughly review the following notifications of symbols.

Warning: Wrong operation may cause injury or death.

Notification: Wrong operation may damage this product. Suggestion: Please read and use this handbook to make scooter operation easier.

Warning: To avoid danger, please read the following safety notifications before driving.

2. Safety notifications::::

1. Please check the product for any missing or damaged parts on opening the package.

2. This product is limited for one person only.

3. Always turn the key switch OFF before getting on or off your vehicle.

4. Powered vehicles may be susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI), which is interfering

electromagnetic energy (EM) emitted from sources such as radio stations, two-way radios and

cellular phones. EMI can damage the control system.

5. Do not zigzag or make turns abruptly to prevent the scooter from tipping over.

6. Always remain seated and keep feet on the footrest while driving to prevent any danger.

7. Do not exceed the maximum weight capacity.

8. Do not drive up or down a very steep hill, please take note of the slope limitation in the

specification.

9. Always obey the local traffic regulations when driving your scooter on the road, please avoid

driving in the rush hour otherwise you may be in danger.

10. Do not drive the scooter in severe weather conditions.

11. Do not drive the scooter on to an escalator.

12. Do not drive the scooter at night.

3. How to operate your scooter::::

1. Operation at first time::::Please refers to below figures. Charge batteries immediately after connecting

Operation::::

Flash indicates low battery power:::: (Refer to figures below)

When LED flashes, it means 30% battery power is left and scooter can run about 1 mile. Please prepare to charge

batteries.

Please charge batteries when the power light flashes as it means the scooter has low battery power.

To speed up the scooter, turn the accelerator in the direction of the green arrow.

To slow down or to stop the scooter, turn the accelerator in the direction of the red

arrow.

If the black button is pushed in the handle can be adjusted to a convenient position – see below

4. Functions::::

� Tiller adjustment mechanism::::

� Tiller folding mechanism::::

Loosen the adjustment mechanism to alter the tiller to the preferred height,

and then tighten the bolt.

Loosen the adjustment handle

When black button protrudes the handle can be adjusted

(loosen or tighten).

It can be turned to an angle parallel to the tiller.

The tiller be rotated to the preferred angle finally tighten the handle after adjustment.

� How to fold the scooter::::

Release the locking levers and lower the tiller to its lowest height

Pull out the safety pin under the seat base to lift the chair from the X

structure frame – See below

Pull up the safety knob situated in the centre of the frame

Fold down the chair

Slide the scooter frame together until the safety knob clicks into position

� How to put the scooter into the suitcase::::

Loosen buckles in turn Open the suitcase

Close the suitcase and tighten buckles Press the button Pull out the handle

Attention: Please ensure freewheel lever is in ‘D’ position before you start driving.

When out of battery, shift the freewheel lever to ‘N’ position to enable the scooter to be moved freely.

Warning: To avoid danger please always use the “ORIGINAL CHARGER” to charge lithium batteries, and never

use a lead-acid based charger.

� Battery charging::::

� Please charge the battery in the correct procedure and check the voltage to ensure it

is fully charged.

� Please do not dismantle or reassemble the charger.

� Please charge the scooter in a ventilated place; avoid sunlight, damp conditions and

humidity.

� Please do not charge the scooter with the waterproof cover in place.

� Do not charge the scooter when indoor/outdoor temperature is below 10° C degree or

more than 30° C to avoid damaging the charger.

� Keep away from open flame to avoid fire or explosion.

� The battery may produce hydrogen, please charge in a ventilated place and do not

smoke while charging.

� Do not pull off the plug or the lead with wet hands to avoid danger.

� Please fully charge the battery until the green light appears. Stopping the charge

before it is complete may affect the life of the battery.

� Whether the scooter is driven daily or not, please remember to charge the scooter

once a week. �

6. Routine Maintenance / Daily Checks / Trouble Shooting

1. Daily check::::

Suggestion: Please check the following items before driving the scooter. If you have any

problem, contact your dealer for a further inspection.

Check Item Contents

Speed Knob • Check the function of speed and rotating adjustment.

Speed lever • Check the function of forward / backward.

• Check if the scooter stops once the lever is released completely.

Motor • Check for any abnormal sound

• Check the function of electromagnetic brake

Battery Gauge • Check that the function is normal

N (neutral) Mode • Push the electromagnetic brake lever to “N” mode and

check its function.

Horn Button • Check the function of the horn button.

Seat Frame • Check the function is normal or not?

Wheel • Check for any cracks or leaks

Others • If any abnormal noise?

• If any oil leakage from transaxle?

Caution:If you discover any problem, please contact your dealer for repair. Any unauthorized

repair or modification will void the warranty.

3. Maintenance:

Battery:Please contact your local authorized dealer for battery replacement.

Fuse security switch:Please contact your authorized dealer for information.

Tyres:The tread wear of tyres is subject to two factors - usage & environmental.

� Please check the depth of tyre pattern or tyre stripe, when the pattern is less than 0.5mm. Please replace it with a new tyre.

Cleaning:Use a clean cloth with mild soap to remove dirt and oils.

Warning: (1) Do not spray the tyre vehicle with water. This will damage the electrical parts. Do not use

flammable liquid or wax, as these will damage the finish on the cover. (2) Turn off the power before maintenance.

Storage:Please follow the instruction to store the vehicle when the vehicle is not in use for long

periods of time. � Please charge the batteries until the LED indicator turns to green. � Ensure the power is off. � Keep the vehicle inside with ventilation - avoid moist environments & direct sunlight. Charge the vehicle once every month

• Warranty period::::

1. Battery warranty period is within 12 months after purchasing the scooter. 2. Scooter warranty period is within 12 months after purchasing the scooter.

4. Trouble shooting:If the scooter does not operate, please execute the following self-check:

Bad connection circuit Check if any cables / leads are loose

Will not start up Speed lever was not released on start-up.

Release the speed lever completely and start up again.

Suggestion: If you are unable to find solutions from the suggestions above, please contact your dealer.

* PG S-Drive Code Error Messages

Flash Description

1 Bar The battery needs charging or there is a bad connection to the battery. Check the connections to the battery. If the connections are good, try charging the battery.

2 Bar There is a bad connection to the motor. Check all connections between the motor & the controller.

3 Bar The motor has a short circuit to a battery connection. Contact your service agent.

4 Bar The freewheel switch is activated or the manual brake disengagement mechanism is operated. Check the position of the switch or lever.

5 Bar Not used.

6 Bar The S-drive is being inhibited from driving. Inhibit 2 is active. This may be because the battery charger is connected or the seat is not in the driving position.

7 Bar A throttle fault is indicated. Make sure that the throttle is in the rest position before switching on the scooter.

8 Bar A controller fault is indicated. Make sure that all connections are secure.

9 Bar The parking brakes have a bad connection. Check the parking brake and motor connections. Make sure the controller connections are secure.

10 Bar An excessive voltage has been applied to the controller. This is usually caused by a poor battery connection. Check the battery connections.

9. WARRANTY DECLARATION

Quality / Warranty Declaration

Products are to be fit for purpose and of excellent quality and performance. For valid warranty claims CareCo (UK) Ltd will, at their discretion, replace / repair / refund items mutually agreed to be defective. The scooter’s warranty is as follows:-

• Frame: One year limited warranty

• Controllers: One year limited warranty

• Electronic Components and Charger: One year limited warranty

• Warranty Exclusion: The following items are not covered by warranty:-

Motor Brushes / Wheel Tyres / Arm Pads Seat Cushion / Fuses and Bulbs / Tiller Cover Rear Shroud / Front Shroud / Batteries and Consumable Parts

Any damage or defect of any nature occurring from the misuse, abuse of the product, improper operation or improper storage is not covered. The warranty starts from the date of arrival of our products.
