Care and Maintenance Guide

Congratulations on the purchase of your new Mosaico handmade cement Tiles! With proper installation and care of your tiles, they will last for many decades and with only a few simple steps, their beauty will increase with time. This guide has been created to assist you, in ensuring the best look, results and performance of your tiled surface.

Care & Maintenance Cleaning your tiles using only recommended products will help

to maintain your preferred finish on the tiles, and a long-lasting

protection of the sealant. We suggest you re-seal your tiles

with a penetrating sealant periodically if foot traffic is intense.

If using solid wax, we recommend buffing to remove excess

product after application.

We recommend the use of the internationally recognized

and specifically formulated products for cement tiles, from

the FILA product range, for all stages of the installation and

maintenance process.

For indoor Non-Wet Areas:1. After installation, but before grouting, clean tiles with

FILACLEANER diluted with water 1:50. Let the tiles dry for

6-8 hours.

2. Then apply HYDROREP ECO, penetrating green sealer, to reduce

the absorption of the tiles. Let it cure for 3-4 hours.

3. After grouting, apply FILAMP90 ECO PLUS stain-proof sealer for a

natural finish or FILASTONE PLUS ECO sealer for a color-enhancing

effect. For stain-prone areas we recommend two coats of

stain-proofing sealer.

4. Once the sealant has dried, you can apply two coats of

FILANATURWAX followed by buffing to achieve an even satin

effect. Ideal for high-traffic areas.

5. FILAMATT liquid wax can then be used once a week to maintain

the satin finish effect.

For Outdoor/Indoor Wet Rooms & Shower Areas:1. Prior to installation, the rear of each tile should be treated with

HYDROREP ECO waterproofing sealant. Make sure the substrate

is also treated and protected with HYDROREP ECO and let dry

completely for several hours.

2. After installation, but before grouting, clean tiles with FILACLEANER

diluted with water 1:50. Let the tiles dry for 6-8 hours.

3. Then apply HYDROREP ECO, penetrating green sealer, to reduce

the absorption of the tiles. Let it cure for 3-4 hours.

4. After grouting, apply FILAMP90 ECO PLUS stain-proof sealer for

a natural finish or FILASTONE PLUS ECO sealer for a color-enhancing

effect. For stain-prone areas we recommend two coats of

stain-proofing sealer.

5. Re-seal the area periodically to avoid stains on your tiles.

Note – do not apply FILAMATT wax for wet and external areas.

▪ Clean your tiles with FILACLEANER neutral detergent diluted

with water 1:100.

▪ In case of heavy dirt on tiles surface – use FILAPS87 diluted

with water 1:3.

▪ Re-seal the area every 4 years to avoid stains on your tiles.
