Cardinal Health™ Sterilization Pouches and Maintenance Covers

Sterilization pouches or peel pouches are designed to contain single items. They are made with a medical-grade paper on one side and a clear plastic film on the other. Options include sized pouches or customizable tubing for long or odd-shaped instruments.

Maintenance or dust covers are protective plastic bags used to help maintain the sterility of an item by protecting it from the environment.

Sterilization packaging must:• Allow sterilization of enclosed devices

• Maintain sterility until opened

• Provide for aseptic delivery of contents onto sterile field

Cardinal Health™ Sterility Maintenance Cover is used after sterilization to help maintain the sterility and cleanliness of the product. The cover or bag is made of 3 mil low density polyethylene for strength with welded seals to help prevent seal opening in use. It includes a tear opening feature, eliminating the need for scissors. The regular, flat cover can be heat sealed or taped closed after the contents are inserted. The self-seal cover has an integrated pressure sensitive closure to ensure effective seal integrity.

Cardinal Health™ Paper Sterilization Tubing features all the same benefits as our paper pouch with the addition of customization. The tubing comes in a reel format where the pouch length is cut to size and then heat sealed along both ends. Ideal for long or odd-shaped instruments. Heat sealer required.

Cardinal Health™ Paper Sterilization Pouch combines a blue film and a medical-grade paper to provide breathability, sterile barrier and indication of processing. Each pouch includes an external process indicator for Steam and Ethylene Oxide (EO) Gas sterilization. You have the choice to seal the pouch yourself or mechanically with a heat sealer. To assist opening, a convenient thumb notch is positioned at the top of the pouch, above the chevron seal.
