CAPTAIN JEREMY HILL, USN PROSPECTIVE COMMANDING OFFICER Portland (LPD 27) CAPT Jeremy Hill was born in Ashland, Wisconsin and raised in Star Prairie, Wisconsin. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and received his commission in 1995. His first tour of duty was aboard USS Scott (DDG 995), where he served as Ordnance Officer and later, the Engineering Training Officer. In February 1998, he received orders to USS Carr (FFG 52), where he served as Ordnance Officer. In May 2000, CAPT Hill reported to USS Deyo (DD 989) and served as Combat Systems Officer. He then transferred to USS Cormorant (MHC 57) in December 2001 and served as Executive Officer. His next assignment was to the U.S. Naval War College, where he completed a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies and Joint Professional Military Education Phase I (JPME I) in March 2005. He completed his Joint Professional Military Education Phase II (JPME II) at the Armed Forces Staff College. Additionally, he completed a Masters of Systems Analysis and is currently on track to complete an Executive Masters of Business Administration from Naval Post Graduate School September 2016. In November 2005, CAPT Hill reported to USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), Seventh Fleet’s Command Ship, as Executive officer. CAPT Hill completed his Executive Officer and fleet-up Command tour of USS Taylor (FFG 50) in November 2012. His other tours ashore include Chief, Requirements Management Branch on the Joint Staff, Force Structure, Resources, and Assessment Directorate, J-8, Joint Capabilities Division, Executive Assistant to Commander, U.S. SIXTH Fleet, Deputy Seabasing Branch in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Assessment Division N81 and Chief of Naval Operation’s Strategic Studies Group XXIII. CAPT Hill’s personal awards and decorations include: the Meritorious Service Medal (w/3 stars), Navy Commendation Medal (w/3 stars), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (w/2 stars), and various service awards.

CAPTAIN JEREMY HILL, USN PROSPECTIVE COMMANDING OFFICER Portland (LPD 27)

CAPT Jeremy Hill was born in Ashland, Wisconsin and raised in Star Prairie, Wisconsin. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and received his commission in 1995.
