    course, 600-hour skin care course, the 300-hourmanicuring course or the 600-hour teacher trainingcourse, you will be prepared to meet state licensingrequirements.

    HOW DO YOU GET A LICENSE?To apply for license you should be at least 17 yearsold, have a high school diploma or a G.E.D. andhave completed one of the courses listed above.If you have a diploma from a foreign country, youmust have that diploma evaluated by one of the

    before submitting it to the N.J. State Board ofCosmetology and Hairstyling for approval.

    WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO ENROLLIN CAPRI?Admission to CAPRI Institute is open to everyone.We give every applicant an interview and entranceexamination. When these are favorable, we admityou to the cosmetology, skin care and manicuringcourses if you have a high school diploma or itsstate-recognized equivalent. If you do not have adiploma or a G.E.D. and are over 16 (the age ofcompulsory education in New Jersey), and are nolonger attending HS; you can enroll in Capri if youdo the following:

    CAPRI cares. From the day you begin your careerwith CAPRI Institute, our associate directors andfaculty are always available to discuss personalgoals, academic progress and nancial information.During your course of study, youll receive frequentprogress reports and evaluations on a regularbasis.

    Students are welcome to schedule individualappointments with the Associate Director at anytime to discuss personal, academic or nancialconcerns. At this time students may also request, inwriting, to see their individual les. This privilege isalso open to parents or guardians of minor studentsif the requests are made in writing. The AssociateDirector is always available to interpret these lesat the time of appointment. Please remember, also,that students receive regular progress reports andevaluations to help measure their progress. Our

    REFUND POLICY

    1. An applicant not accepted by the school shall beentitled to a refund of all monies paid.

    2. If a student (or in the case of a student under legalage, his/her parent or guardian) cancels his/herenrollment and demands his/her money back,in writing, within THREE business days of thesigning of an enrollment agreement or contract, all

    monies collected by the school shall be refunded.The cancellation date will be determined by thepostmark on written notication, or the date saidinformation is delivered to the school administrator/owner in person. This policy applies regardlessof whether or not the student has actually startedtraining.

    3. If a student cancels his/her enrollment after theTHREE business days following the signing butprior to entering classes, he/she shall be entitled toa refund of all monies paid to the school, less anenrollment fee of $150.00.

    4. If a student enrolls and enters classes, inasmuch as

    instructional charges cover the period beforethe student completes the rst 50% of total training,the amount due when termination occurs is asfollows:a. $150.00 Registration Feeb. $100.00 Termination Feec. $1,100.00 for Cosmetology course or

    $675.00 for Skin Care course or$495.00 for Manicuring course representscost of student case, equipment tools,textbooks,institutional materials.

    e. Return of Title IV policy applies to all rst timestudents receiving Title IV Funds. School willapply institutional refund and return to TitleIV refund policy. All nancial aid is earned

    through student attendance. Any nancial aidthat is returned due to poor attendance is theresponsibility of the student.

    5. Enrollment time is dened as the time elapsedbetween the actual starting date and the date ofthe students last day of physical attendance inthe school. Any monies due to the applicant orstudent shall be refunded within 45 days of ofcial

    cancellation by the student as dened in item 2, formal termination by the school, which shall occno more than 15 days from the last day of physicattendance. In the case of a leave of absence, thdocumented date of return or the date the studenoties the school they will not return.

    6. Date of termination for computation purposes is

    last day of physical presence in the school.7. In case of illness or disabling accident, death in timmediate family, or other circumstances beyondcontrol of the student, the school makes a settlewhich is reasonable and fair to both.

    8. If a school is permanently closed and no longeroffering instruction after a student has enrolled,the student shall be entitled to a pro-rata refund tuition.

    9. If a course is cancelled subsequent to a studentenrollment but prior to the start of training, the scshall at its option:

    a. Provide a full refund of all monies

    paid, orb. Provide completion of the course

    10. If the student has started training and the coursecancelled, the students refund will comply with ttuition adjustment schedule stated above in Item

    FINANCIAL FACTS INFORMATIONTuition fees and payment plans are listed on a sepasheet at the end of this brochure. Tuition fees includthe cost of tools, equipment, books and educationalmaterial issued to the student. Not included in the pof total tuition are regulation shoes, uniform pants a

    additional charges required by the New Jersey StateBoard of Cosmetology and Hairstyling.

    These charges include:

    Student registration fee Examination fee

    Student operator permit fee License fee

    Capri Institute allows a maximum of 10% of a descrcourse as excused absent hours. All other absencesany reason are considered unexcused absent hoursan additional $7.00 per hour may be charged for eacabsent hour over the allowed 10%. We do however,recognize extenuating circumstances and will consid

    written request for removal of unexcused absent howith proper documentation. Make-up time is alwaysoffered and encouraged at the institute.

    RECORDS OF PROGRESS AND ATTENDANCE

    Each students progress and attendance is kept through

    daily records. Capri students strive for 90% attendance.

    To maintain satisfactory progress each student must

    average at least 67 % attendance. You will bepermitted 4 lates each month which are considered

    absent hours. Any absence for illness or personal reason

    can be made up during designated make-up schedule.

    Prolonged absences could effect your graduation and

    a leave of absence may be necessary. In this case

    you may present your circumstances to the ofce for

    administrative approval. To ensure these standards, we

    offer continual individualized instructions and support.

    Student Records

    Records and transcripts are made available upon request

    only after written permission is given from studentsover 18 or from parents or guardians of minor students.

    However, student records can be released without written

    permission for legal or accreditation purposes only.

    Students may gain access to their les by requesting

    information from the Associate Director. This request may

    be either oral or written. The Associate Director guides

    you during each le review.

    Throughout the program, students are given written t

    on every course of study and clinic work is evaluated

    instructors. Each student receives a bi-monthly evalu

    Graduation Requirement

    To meet graduation requirements, students must com1200 hours for the cosmetology/hairstyling course, 6

    hours for skin care course, 300 hours for the manicu

    course, 600 hours for teachers training, and 25 hours

    for the shaving course. In addition, students must pa

    the written and practical nal examination, complete

    doctor's physical and have a HS diploma, GED or a s

    recognized equivalency.

    Certificate of Completion

    A certificate of completion is awarded to students who

    successfully complete a course in accordance with

    the rules and regulations of the New Jersey State

    Board of Cosmetology and Hairstyling.

    SCHOOL CALENDAR

    New students are admitted to classes on the first

    working Monday of the month, whether attendance

    is for a day or evening schedule. Classes are held

    throughout the year, with no formal closing period.

    As noted in the Student Handbook, unexpected

    closings due to weather conditions may occur during

    your enrollment at Capri Institute. Day students willcall the school between 7A.M. and 8A.M. for day

    closing announcements. Evening students will call

    after 3 P.M. for night class closings.
