The CAP’EM project aims

• to increase manufacture, distribution and

use of eco-materials in NWE building

industry by:

– easy access to data

– comparing ‘component’ properties

– better demonstration of eco materials benefits

– supply chain development into 5 countries

• A key hurdle was

– overcoming differences in regional and national

approaches to how we define, evaluate and

• Eco Construction term translator

CAP'EM’s database

– end of life solutions

– cradle to gate Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data

• Many generic materials (50+): – Concrete, timber, steel, etc.

– regionalised LCA • For 5 participating countries in NW Europe.

• Responsible for the design of the

database Graphic User Interface (GUI)

CAP'EM GUI

• The GUI presentation will show searches for ‘components’ by:

– building applications • avoiding inappropriate applications

• once found selected equivalent product’s can be compared side by side

• adding project site Address to the GUI will calculate ‘gate-to-site LCA’.

• Project data will be added to Product Data Sheets and stored for users to download or emailed to users.
