SEEDS Network is a group of five member organizations covering activities in areas of post-disaster reconstruction; disaster-resilient habitat design; community education; planning, training, research; and humanitarian communication. Faculty of Built Environment, University of New South Wales (UNSW) :

The Faculty’s research agenda tackles the challenges of change in urban environments at all scales. Research strengths are in its combination of disciplines such as architecture, landscape architecture, construction, property, planning, industrial and urban design. Asian Disaster Reduction and Response Network (ADRRN):

ADRRN is a network of national civil society organisations across the Asia-Pacific region. ADRRN consists of 34 national and local NGOs across 21 countries. ADRRN’s work has focused around local leaders, accountability and innovation – the very issues currently being championed in the sector globally. Inaugural Ceremony:

Inaugural program start with Welcome speech by Prof. Mahmudur Rahman sir in his speech he mentioned about the

important and need of innovation in disaster risk reduction. Honorable guests and partners gave their welcome speech

according to the view. Inaugural ceremony closed by Prof. Quazi Quamruzzaman sir.

Capacity Building Training:

Training Session started by the presentation of Mr.Takeshi Komino, Secretary General -Asian Disaster Risk Reduction

Network (ADRRN) and Country Representative-Community World Service (CWS0-Japan).His topic was about ‘’Introduction

of the Risks & Challenges by validating critical assumptions in Innovation Project” .In his lecture he mentioned about not

only Bangladesh but also all countries in Asia are more prone to natural & man made disaster. So need more approach for

disaster risk reduction and Importance of innovation project. He also added the frequency and magnitude of many types

of extreme events, including floods, droughts, tropical cyclones and wildfires change the nature of many types of hazards

may lead to relocation within and between countries.

After that Prof. Salamat Khandakar,Professor,Deffodil international University delivered his speech on “Writing a standard

case study in Innovation Project” He did elaborative discussion on formatting a standard case study with some data based

on family planning and family nutrition. He focused on approach, structure and components. The components are:

Mr.Gawher Nayeem Wahra, Founder Member Secretary, Disaster Forum, made an open discussion on “Writing of innovation project report “He reflected the way of making standard innovation project report. Which may include positive and negative result what we found and this will be more learning and effective for project management.

Prof.Abdul Wadud Khan,Formar Dept Head, Community Medical Medicine,NIPSOM gave his knowledgeable presentation on role of epidemiology on innovation. Innovation project can be strengthening by epidemiological study. He indicated some determinates & distributions on epidemiological study.

“What does innovation at the community level in Korail look like and how does it build resilience?”

Md Sydeedur Rahman, Management Counselor, Bangladesh Institute of Management, Ministry of Industry GOB presented

“An overview of Innovation project management” with different aspects. He gave a clear view of concept of the

innovation project with characteristics. He mentioned that Project management is the application of knowledge, skills,

tools and techniques to project activities to meet project requirements. He gave an overview on project cycle, programme

cycle and logical framework to run an innovation project.

The programme was closed by honorable Chairman of DCH Trust Prof. Quazi Quamruzzaman sir. He gave thanks to all

guests and participants and some advice to the staffs from his long experience.
