Our state-of-the art manufacturing unit is at Kirloskarvadi, nearly 350 km south of Mumbai. We are an ISO
9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007 company accredited by Lloyda (LRQP). In addition to our
rich experience, our well-equipped manufacturing centre has high end infrastructure and capacity to
manufacture 1200 pumps per annum.
Along with the latest CNC Lathe and CNC controlled Bridge Type Milling Machine, this plant houses a large
Pattern Store with huge storage capacity and easy retrieval system. To ensure stringent quality we have NDT
facility that conducts Ultrasonic Test, Magnetic Particle Test and Dye Penetrant Test.

KEPL Quality Management System includes design and development of rotary equipments like process pumps
and steam turbines. Engineering consists of R&D, Design, Product and Application Engineering. These cells are
headed by very senior and experienced engineers from the rotary field. These cells are capable of designing
pumps and turbines using the following tools and techniques:
• Estimation of basic pump hydraulic parameters using existing developed models to suit new requirements
• Validation of hydraulic parameters using CFD analysis
• Estimation of basic mechanical design parameters and its validation based on existing prototypes in
successful use. Alternately validate design parameters using advance tools like lateral analysis, torsional analysis,
seismic analysis and FEA dynamic analysis of pump and its support structure
• Development of assemblies and components in 3D version using advance tools like Solid works and

Major components of pumps are cast. KEPL develops pattern equipments for their castings and stores them in a
hygienic environment to ensure longer life without shape distortion. Patterns are loaned to foundaries like M/S.
The Kolhapur Steel Limited on case to case basis. First prototype casting method is validated for its runner, riser
and gating system using advance computerized Casting Simulation Software.
First pressure containing casting is inspected by carrying out radiography test at critical areas followed by
Magnetic Particle or Dye Penetrant Examination on all approachable areas. Foundaries are capable to pour
casting in various grades of carbon steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, high alloyed steels, duplex and super
duplex stainless steel. The castings are subjected to various physical and chemical tests including charpy impact,
ferrous contents and microstructure. The material can also be subject to various IGC test requirements to qualify
the material for corrosive services.
