Dear Canyon View Families, Conference week is behind us and I hope that your conversations with your children’s teachers were informative. Conference week is a valuable time for us each year as it is a wa y to coordinate our col- lective efforts to help educate our children and support the work that is taking place at school and at home. As we all can agree, learning doesn’t stop when our chil dren leave school, and we are committed to strengthening the school-home partnership. In an effort to ensure that p arent-teacher conferences are meeting the needs of everyone involved, we are asking parents to give us some f eedback by completing a short survey . Please use the link below to complete the survey . If you have multiple children who attend Canyon View, we would appreciate it if you completed a separate survey for each child. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/NYN97KM  Over the next two weeks, we have three exciting events happening around campus beginning with to- night’s Can yon Boo! This long-standing tradition ki cks off at 6:00 p.m. and includes several fun and en- gaging activities ranging from trick-or-treating (6-8 p.m.), the Sonora Desert Mu seum's Spooky Animal Exhibit, Mad Science, and the silent auction. We’ll see you there! Next, on October 31 st  we will be having our annual Halloween Parade out on the North Field . We will be starting the festivities promptly after morning announcements and students who are planning on dressing up should arriv e at school dr essed in their costumes. When selecting a costume for y our child/children, please be sure that it is appropriate for school. Children are not permitted to wear face paint, bring dangero us items, or items that represent weapons or could be used in a way that could cause injury to other part icipants. After our parade has concluded, all students will be expected to change back into their regular school atti re. We appreciate your support! Finally, on November 7 th  we will be hosting CV’s Science Fair Kick-Off Night from 6-7 p.m. in the MPR. This informational session will give students and parents insight regarding the scientic process and what it takes to create a quality science fair project. Students who participate in this project-based learning will experience rst-hand the excitement and sense of accomplishment that comes with com- pleting a science experiment from start to nish, r egardless of the end result. Hands-on learning is an effective way to spark students’ natural sense of curiosity , and the impact could last a lifetime! Have a wonderful weekend!
