experimental deKalb hybrids are tested by leading growers together with Monsanto’s technology development team.

Once an experimental hybrid is selected for advancement, it moves to faCTTm advancement Trials for field scale testing. Growers across western Canada assist monsanto in testing new and experimental hybrids alongside leading DEkalB and competitor hybrids. The performance advantage you’re counting on, right from the start. AcceleronTM is the only canola seed treatment technology that combines an industry-leading insecticide/fungicide package with an exclusive proprietary biological active ingredient. This combination works together to help attain successful stand establishment and improved yield potential. Most leading 73 Series hybrids will be treated with AcceleronTM seed treatment technology for canola* in 2012.

• The fungicide stands up to seedling diseases including damping-off, seedling blight, seed rot, and root rot as well as seed-borne blackleg

• The insecticide controls against flea beetles with proven protection for up to 35 days after seeding• The biological component - unique to Acceleron seed treatment technology for canola - is comprised

of a naturally-occurring soil bacteria that contributes to better control of the seedling disease complex common to canola

22

* Acceleron™ seed treatment technology for canola is a combination of two separate individually-registered products, which together contain the active ingredients difenoconazole, metalaxyl-M, fludioxonil, thiamethoxam, and bacillus subtilis.

product traits roundup readY®corn 2Early-season weed control is critical to maximizing yield potential. It reduces weeds to reduce the weed seed bank. It gives you better flexibility for maximum weed control – pre to late-post. Timely applications and the appropriate rate of Roundup weathermaX® herbicide will give you unsurpassed broad-spectrum weed control. Because Roundup weathermaX® herbicide is so effective, it may be the only post-emergence product you need.

YieldGard vt triple® yieldGard vT Triple® hybrids offer insect and weed-control traits stacked into one seed:

•Stalk Protection

•Root Protection

•Weed control of the Roundup Ready 2 Technology system

Reach your full yield potential with root protection, stalk protection and broad-spectrum weed control. The yieldGard vT Triple® trait provides European corn borer protection in the Roundup Ready® system with a consistent barrier of protection against corn rootworm than ever before. Combine that with the unsurpassed weed control of the Roundup Ready® 2 Technology system, and you’ve got a triple-stacked package that helps to maximize yield protection for today’s top-performing hybrids.

GenuitY® vt double pro™Genuity® vT Double PRO™ corn offers best-in-class insect protection and greater whole-farm yield potential, focusing on productivity, reduced refuge and opportunity for improved grain quality.

Genuity® vT Double PRO™ corn is the latest innovation from the Genuity® family of traits. It’s the only double-stacked corn trait technology with dual modes-of-action for above-ground insect protection and reduced refuge to just 5% of planted acres. That’s more protection for more of your acres than any other double-stack technology.

• Best-in-class insect protection delivers greater whole-farm yield potential

• Dual modes-of-action against key above ground pests allows for a reduced refuge down to 5%

• Increased Yield Potential

• 5% Refuge

• Broader Spectrum of Insect Protection

YieldGard®corn borer The excellent protection of yieldGard® Corn Borer allows corn to maintain a healthier stalk. yieldGard® Corn Borer reduces stalk damage and lodging caused by corn borers. healthier stalks can better transport moisture and nutrients.

DEKALB® brand soybean genetics incorporating the Genuity® Roundup Ready 2 Yield® trait provide the strongest combination of yield and weed control ever.

soYbeans

monsanto understands that heat unit ratings are an important factor in selecting the right product for your farm; that’s why we continually assess the rating we assign to our products for accuracy and recommend products only where they will perform to their potential. we have built an appropriate body of credible data that allows us to adjust our ratings based on western Canadian geography.

The current soybean lineup is suited for southern manitoba. we continue to evaluate products with lower heat unit requirements.

monsanto offers an outstanding lineup of DEkalB brand varieties for western Canada. Be sure to match your local heat units to one of our excellent hybrids.
