More change has happened in the last 18 months in the world of cannabis, than during

the entire 25 years before. Marijuana has been legalized in some form in 33 states, with 11

– including Washington DC, California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada,

Oregon, Maine, Alaska, Vermont & Washington – allowing it for recreational use. As more

states vote to legalize weed, a rising number of cannabis-based businesses are emerging,

offering everything from weed tourism to clubs. As a result, we’re starting to see a shift in

attitudes towards the plant, moving from judgement & skepticism to a more open

understanding of its benefits beyond the coveted “high”. The power of weed bringing people

WHAT IS CBD?

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the most well known of about 100 different phytochemicals found in the cannabis plant,

known as phytocannabinoids.It is non-psychoactive, meaning

it will not get you high.

HOW DOES CBD WORK?

CBD works because we have an endocannabinoid system in

our bodies. This endocannabinoid system is responsible for the body’s

ability to maintain itself & function properly.

It is involved in regulating things such as appetite, pain

sensation, memory & mood. There are actually

receptors all over our body that have cell receptors for the ‘cannabinoids’.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CBD AND THC?

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) & cannabidiol (CBD) are the two

primary cannabinoids that occur naturally in the cannabis sativa plant.

CBD does not induce a high whereas THC does.

Despite several states legalizing cannabis for

recreational use, the FDA states that CBD is not permitted in food/drink.
