ESSAY. Explain in 100 words or less why you want to run for the position and your vision for AMS. I want to run for the position because I believe this is one way I can help in making AMS a better organization, seeing as some of the problems in projects and in handling situations come from not taking advantage of information we already have from the past years. If the documentations from the past years are handled well and passed on to the project teams, I believe it will have a positive impact on the direction of AMS projects. With that, I see AMS as an organization where the members are fully informed and mobilized. PLEDGE I, Katrianne Luz P. Obillo , attest to the facts contained in this Certificate of Candidacy and in all other documents required by the Electoral Board of the Ateneo Mathematics Society (AMS). I thereby give permission to evaluate the facts contained in all the documents I have submitted to the AMS Electoral Board.
I swear to uphold the rules stipulated in the AMS Electoral Code and by the AMS Electoral Board with full awareness that the violation of the said rules would result to possible sanctions as stipulated in the AMS Electoral Code.
It is my sincere intention to promote a free, honest, and clean election.

III. PLATFORM You are allowed to have more than three (3) Main Points. USE PROPER FORMAT. Strictly ONE (1) LINE ONLY for each Main Point and NO MORE THAN SEVEN (7) LINES for the Details. Note: A sentence does not automatically correspond to one line. MAIN POINT 1: AMS as historical. I want to put old files, especially project evaluations, from the past three years to good use by making a synthesized “manual” or “black book” for all the projects of AMS. This will help the next wave of project core teams to know what problems have been encountered and what they can do to prevent them. It can also pinpoint strengths for the team to develop and can provide them with contacts the organization has managed to get bargains and deals from in the past. Basically, this “black book” will be a guide for core teams and will especially help those who are new in the project, and will be a new answer to the question, “Why do we even do evaluations in the first place?” MAIN POINT 2: AMS as organized. Being organized involves a constant communication with people involved with the projects and efforts of the organization. Problems in documentations stem from the lack of proper correspondence and periodic checking up. With that, first of all, the PH Kit, which contains the documentations needed to be done by the end of the project, must be well spread to the core members, especially the secretariat team. I also plan to have a Drop Box for projects that go on for weeks, so that their evaluations per week/per session are monitored and are ready by the time the project is over. Prevention is better than cure, and starting out the project ready for documentation will make work easier for everyone involved. MAIN POINT 3: DPool as mobilizer and people-‐driven. A problem for the past documentations pool is the lack of manpower. This greatly affects the number of people that can be deployed to a certain project. Therefore, another main goal of mine is to increase the number of DPool members, through more waves of pool applications. People are discouraged when they think that they are not skilled to be in the DPool, but I will send a clear message that one only needs to have interest in the kind of work the pool does in order for them to be welcome to join. Being people-‐driven, the members of the pool will be given opportunities to develop their skills through trainings and will be recognized by continuing watermarking.
