Star Track Album Seen 'N' Heard L il Za, a good friend of Justin Bieber, is being held by police after a morn- ing raid found copious amounts of drugs in plain sight around the house It’s a good thing that Justin wasn’t at home on Tuesday, January 14th, 2014, as police raided his house following the alleged egging of his next door neigh- bour’s house to find evidence linking him to the felony vandalism charge. Rather than find a factory’s worth of eggs at the scene, LAPD officers found something much more illegal: lots of drugs. According to a report, Bieber’s Calabasas home was raided in the early hours of Tuesday morning, with police having obtained a search warrant in order to check for evidence stemming from his egg attack. As stupid as this sounds, there is actu- ally reasoning behind the search, the main two being that police were after video evidence possibly in the Bieber homestead - with cops taking his home surveillance system with them - and checking to see if the eggs in his home match the same type used against the neighbouring house. Initially, considering the lines of dust to be cocaine, police have now determined that the drugs kept in plain sight, within the house, were actually MDMA, but whatever it was that police found it doesn’t spell good news for Bieber’s crony, Lil Za. The terribly-named ‘rapper’ friend of Biebs was linked directly to the drugs and thrown in jail with a $20,000 bail being set. As the drugs were found during a felony raid, any charges made by police are totally warranted and even though they aren’t linked to the initial investigation, cops were able to prose- cute Za with full legal backing. Whilst the police investigation con- tinues, Bieber is keeping a low profile as he may possibly face a felony charge for the vandalism act, which could result in him being thrown in jail. The police, they say, are determined to link Biebs to the crime and see him face the consequences because they are sick of seeing him use his celebrity sta- tus to avoid legal action, as he has done in the past. Staleness has now set in and not many are keen to see him in action – describing his performance as ‘antique.’ His name did absolutely nothing to pull in the crowd on 31st night – with only 20 tickets actually sold. He is no more a drawcard – and that’s for sure. T he key ingredient, in the success of a show – especially if it involves music – is the production side. The presentation has to be such that the audience would be kept at the edge of their seat all the time. And this should be more so if one is celebrating a big moment in one’s career. Mirage, one of the best outfits in the local showbiz scene, cele- brated their 25 anniversary, in December last year (2013). They went ahead with grandeur plans to ensure that the anniversary concert standout in every way. But, unfortunately, it didn’t. There were many shortcomings, that par- ticular evening, that turned, what should have been a memorable event, into a concert that brought about boredom to many in the audience. Donald, Melantha, Benjy, Shafi and Manod gave a masterly display of their musical prowess on stage. But that is something we all experience whenev- er we visit the Margarita Blue. The anniversary con- cert got off to a late start – well after 8.00 pm – and went on till almost 12 midnight. I guess that is pre- cisely why the band, although brilliant on stage, didn’t find the audience screaming, or applauding for ‘one more’ at the end of the show. Most were wondering when the show was going to end and quite a few had already left the hall as the show moved at a very slow pace. It never got into top gear as the production side lacked profession- alism. The curtain raiser wasn’t boombastic, and it was not the start Mirage wanted. And then the gaps between songs! Costume changes took some time and the videos that came in as fillers, did nothing to generate any excite- ment. D aniel O’ Donnell, now a household name in Sri Lanka, will be featured live in concert, in Colombo – courtesy of Gold FM. The singer will perform at the Sri Lanka Exhibition & Convention Centre, in Colombo, on Saturday, March 23rd, 2014. O’ Donnell’s music has been described as a mix of country and Irish folk and he has a big fan base in Sri Lanka. Yes, his Colombo concert is certain to draw a full house, but a full house could also result in some of the audience being inconvenienced – like it hap- pened at the Cliff Richard con- cert and at the recent Isla and Al Grant show – as the SLECC is not the best place for musical shows.
