Definition

A CSA is a resident of Canada who goes abroad for their medical

education.

CSAs are International Medical Graduates (IMG).

The term IMG does not refer to citizenship or place of birth; it is only

an educational reference.

Eligibility Criteria for CaRMS

Medical school must be listed with the World Directory of Medical Schools

(formally the International Medical Education Directory (IMED) published by the

Foundation for the Advancement of International Medical Education and Research

(FAIMER)

Must be a Canadian citizen or hold a valid Canadian permanent resident card

Must have written and passed the Medical Council of Canada Evaluating

Examination (MCCEE)

Must have written and passed the National Assessment Collaboration (NAC)
