Chris Henderson’s blend of a modern country sound, with strong traditional roots has quickly helped him become one of Canada’s busiest Country Recording Artists. Since his debut album released in 2008, the former high school teacher has been playing shows and touring in Canada relentlessly, and has released 8 singles to Canadian Country radio to date. His sophomore album, “My Turn”, was released in March of 2014, and featured several songs that garnered attention including, “Don’t Miss Your Kiss Goodbye”, “I Sure Hope He Loves You”, and “Crazy’s Comin’ Outta The Bottle”.

Henderson found success with “Don’t Miss Your Kiss Goodbye” as his first entry into the top 50 on the BDS Country Charts, peaking at #47. The song also earned Henderson (and songwriters Troy Kokol & Willie Mack), the 2014 “Song of the Year” at the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards. “I Sure Hope He Loves You” also followed strong, peaking at #51 on the BDS charts as well.

2014 was a banner year for award-winning Brooklin, Ontario singer Lindsay Broughton! The year found the young singer songwriter performing at several notable performances such as the Big Valley Jamboree, the Boots & Spurs Stampede, during Canadian Country Music Week, and CIMA’s Canadian Blast, where she performed at the Canadian Consulate in Los Angeles to a packed room of international music biz execs. Broughton also saw the release of her debut album Take Me There, with a spectacular launch party at Toronto's Rock 'N Horse Club where she performed for KX 96 (Toronto) and KX947 (Hamilton) contest winners. The two singles from the album ("Take Me There" and "Stay With Me") also saw success by hitting the Canadian Country charts, with the video "Take Me There" airing on CMT, where she was also chosen to be the network's Fresh Face Artist for the month of May. In the closing months of the year she made not one, but two appearances on Canada AM, singing her single "Take Me There" and a cover of the classic holiday song "Have Yourself a Merry little Christmas".

2014 saw much success for the award-winning and Canadian Country Music Association Discovery Program alumni Jack Connolly. While giving performances at such notable events like the Havelock Country Jamboree and the Big Valley Jamboree, Connolly also hosted a night of powerful live music with special guests at Toronto’s St. Paul’s Bloor Street in celebration of the launch of his latest album Great Big Soul, with proceeds of the evening going towards relief for families in the Middle East that have been effected by the extremist group ISIS’ campaign of terror and death throughout the region. Jack also gave a touching remembrance performance on CHCH's Morning Live by singing his song ‘The Unknown Soldier’, a song inspired by the devastating events that took place in Ottawa on October 22nd in Corporal Nathan Cirillo’s hometown of Hamilton, Ontario.

High Valley had a banner year in 2014! Releasing their third studio album, County Line, in fall 2014 Brad and Curtis Rempel of High Valley saw immense success with the title track off of the new album "County Line". Selected as a "Highway Find" on Sirius XM's The Highway the single soared to the Top 5 at the station. "County Line" also holds the record as the longest running Top 10 hit on the Canadian country music charts in 2014. Recorded in Franklin, TN their latest release was produced by Billboard Producer of the Year Seth Mosley, which incorporates bluegrass, classic country, and Mosley's pop influences ultimately creating what Brad and Curtis describe as 'pop-grass'. This past fall High Valley set out on their first headlining tour across Canada, in support of County Line, which saw them perform in 26 cities from coast to coast.

2014 was the year of Dean BrodyDean Brody. Being the only male Canadian country artist to have two #1 singles on the charts in Canada it is no surprise that Dean was awarded the two highest honours this year. At the 2014 JUNO Awards Dean took home the Country Recording of the Year Award, his country music family also awarded him the 2014 CCMA Award for Country Album of the Year. Knocking it out of the park with the lead single, “Bounty”, the moment that Dean revealed the song an instant buzz was formed. Attracting millions of listeners across the country the song quickly shot up the charts to the Top 10 and reached #1 status on the Canadian country music charts as well as on CMT Canada. Following the success from “Bounty”, Dean released his second single, “Crop Circles”, which was without a doubt THE country music single of 2014. The “Crop Circles” music video also earned the #1 spot on CMT Canada. His singles “Another Man’s Gold”, and “Mountain Man”, both released in 2014, saw huge success on country music radio and resonated well with fans. It should also be noted that all four singles off of the Crop Circles album reached Top 10 status. As if these were all of his triumphs in 2014, at the start of the year Dean set out on his Crop Circles and Tractor Beams headlining cross-Canada tour, performing 18 shows and selling out multiple dates. His performance of “Mountain Man” at the 2014 CCMA Awards was another one of the most talked about moments of this year, as he channeled his inner ‘mountain man’ and repurposed some antlers as an instrument.

To say that 2014 was a good year for Madeline Merlo is an understatement. With a constant buzz swirling around her before official music was released it was her first single "Sinking Like A Stone" which skyrocketed her career. Receiving huge amounts of support from her hometown station (93.7 JRfm Vancouver) the single was selected to be featured in their weeknight New Country Challenge. Winning five consecutive nights - the single received a massive response and the song was promptly added to rotation. Following the release of her first single Merlo delivered her self-titled debut EP which included her second hit single "Alive". Quickly becoming a fan favourite "Alive" was added into heavy rotation on CMT Canada. Rounding off 2014 Merlo released her first holiday single "Jolly Ol' Redneck" and performed the track at both the CHBA Stock The Shelves and Basics for Babies charity events.

"2014 was an exciting year for me. Country Radio was incredibly supportive and contributed greatly to the success of both Forever Summer and Get A Bed, and I'm so thankful. The fans were there in droves as well as we played Boots & Hearts, PEI Celebration Zone, and the Saddledome for the Calgary Stampede Virgin Mobile Concert Series. It felt a bit like being shot out of a cannon after being out of the spotlight in Country for a couple of years while I worked on my Just As I Am album project. I'm looking forward to more music in 2015, and seeing everyone on the road very soon; It's great to be back!" – Country Superstar Paul Brandt
