Canada and Alaska
From Vancouver to Denali Park
The last frontier of America
This trip is for those who want to see the best of Alaska but still want to visit the Pearl of the
West Coast, Vancouver. After having spent two days in what is now 10 years considered as the
Western City with the highest standard of living, you will start your explorer’s adventure in
Alaska, visiting the beautiful city of Anchorage with its dynamic nature, and then proceed to
Seward and take a really exciting trip: Kenai Fjord National Park and Denali National Park.
These days, in fact, will enable you to discover the most beautiful sights of the region which is
regarded as the last frontier of America!!
ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Vancouver
Upon arrival at Vancouver International
Airport you will be greeted by one of our
representatives who will accompany you to your
hotel. You will have a small introductory tour of
the city along the way to the hotel. Dinner
according to the roadbook which you will
receive upon arrival. Overnight in Hotel or B &
B in Vancouver for two nights including
breakfast.
Day 2: Vancouver Beauty!!
The second day is devoted entirely to this
beautiful city; if you want to take advantage
of a guided tour, it is available on request.
After the inevitable visit to Stanley Park
and the Aquarium, you will have the
opportunity to choose among several
options, including: excursion to Lynn Valley
Suspension Bridge and Hatchery (salmon
hatchery); the parks of West Vancouver and the
giant trees of Light House and Dundrave Park,
and relaxing with a picnic by the sea; guided
tour to the M.O.A. Museum of Antroplogy at
the U.B.C. University of British Columbia. In
the evening, you will have dinner at one of the
restaurants marked in your road book and
return to your hotel or B & B.
From Canada to Alaska
Day 3: from Vancouver to Anchorage
Today, early in the morning, from Vancouver, you’ll take your flight to the city of Anchorage,
Alaska's largest city and a communication hub between Central and Western Alaska, rich in
natural resources including oil, natural gas and fishing.
The city is surrounded by a natural arch especially rich in wildlife, so it is an ideal starting
point for numerous excursions. If you want to, you can also go to interesting Alaska Native
Heritage Center, which will help you to discover the history and origins of this place.
Day 4: From Anchorage to Seward
excursion to Kenai Fjords National Park
Today early in the morning, at 7.00, you will take
a bus to Seward that will be the starting point of
Kenai Fjords National Park. During your trip
you'll navigate through 140 km for one of the
most interesting eco-tourism experiences
throughout North America. Plenty of scenarios
between glaciers and large animal life, both on
land and in the ocean, you can see they are one of
the main ideas of the whole experience
and observation exploration in Alaska.
You will be accompanied by explanations
of the captain of the Rangers and expert
guides in ethology, geology and
naturalism. You will also be served an
excellent lunch on board. Upon return
from this trip, in the afternoon, you will
check in your motel or B & B in Seward.
Day 5: Towards Denali
Spend a few hours this morning to visit this
cold City of the North; then at 10:00 you
will get to the Small Boat Harbour and get
on the coach bus to Denali. You will travel
by coach bus, this is a convenient and
spectacular way to reach the park. You can
relax and enjoy the amazing views from
the comfortable seats of the bus. You will
get to Denali at nine in the evening.
Overnight accommodation for two nights
with breakfast at your lodge or B & B,
ready for the next day's excursion.
Day 6: A Visit to Denali National Park
It is your day of visit to Denali National Park
which is as large as nearly two and a half
million hectares. There are 39 species of
mammals including black and grizzly bears,
moose, big horns, white wolves and
wolverines, then 167 species of birds, 10
species of fish as well as countless species of
plants, flowers, mosses lichens, fungi and
algae. You will start to experience the
majestic nature very early in the morning
with the Kantishna Wilderness Trails, the
best tour to explore the many delights of this
beautiful park; during the trip you will be
served a snack, while lunch will be served at
Kantishna Roadhouse, where you'll also get a
chance to see a demonstration of sled dogs. Upon return you will have some free time in the
afternoon. Free time for dinner and return to your hotel or B & B.
Day 7: From Denali to Anchorage by Gold Star Dome Train
Today, in early afternoon, you will be transfered to Denali Depot to start your spectacular
journey on Gold Star Dome Train. At 12.25 you will get on on a seemingly normal train
which, however, has special carriages with floor-to-ceiling windows. These will allow you to
make a real "safari in motion" of the marvellous nature of Alaska, staying comfortably seated
in your armchairs. We will reach the city of Anchorage at 8 pm.
Here we will accommodate you in your B & B, with breakfast included. Free dinner time
Day 8: Return flight
After a hearty breakfast, you will be transferred with the hotel's private shuttle to the
Anchorage airport for your return flight.
