  • Welcome and Greetings

    Page 2

Thank you for worshipping with us at Canaan Baptist Church. The corporate life of this congregation is the true witness of the vitality of our faith. While the high point of our Christian service is to be found in the experience of Sunday worship, what we do from Monday to Saturday, speaks volumes about Canaans commitment and dedication to Christ and our community.

Canaan is a family where all of us are saved sinners hammering out our salvation under the auspices of Gods amazing grace. We are structured, but not so structured as to prevent the powerful work of the Holy Spirit to impact the life of our in-reach and outreach ministries. We are organized, but not so organized to prevent the organism, which is the Church, from bearing full life.

    We Welcome You!

    Rev. Anita L. Coleman

Good News Of Canaan (GNOC): Tell us about your call to the ministry. AC: But whenever you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6:6). Around the age of 7, I developed a desire for prayer and created a secret place in my closet where I would retreat often to

talk to God which provided comfort from the turmoil of domestic violence. Now as an adult, that secret place of prayer is the place of complete submissiveness to the will of God. The closer I got to God, the more I felt His desire for me to be a servant for Kingdom work. This was the place where God called me into the ministry of intercessory prayer. GNOC: Whats your passion for ministry? AC: My passion for ministry is experiencing the presence of God at work in this world that so desperately needs to know who He is. I cannot find the words that would exemplify what it feels like to have The Almighty God operating in you to bring light into dark places, and hope in the midst of hopelessness. My heart says, "Do it again, Lord. Do it again." GNOC: How is it serving with Pastor Bullock to help him carry out Gods vision for Canaan? AC: The Word of God says, follow Me. (John 21:19) I was once asked the question, what makes a good leader. My response was, many have the ability lead, but it takes a good leader to have followers. If you have no followers, you're just taking a walk. When I can see God operating in and through my leader, I know I am following the will of God. This I have experienced in the leadership under Pastor Bullock at Canaan Baptist Church. I am in the right place.

Saints, there is nothing God cannot do when we seek Him. We are not beyond His reach. He is the giver of all life and there is no one like Him. He's the King of all Kings and has unlimited power. He's omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. Therefore, let's get tied up, tangled up and wrapped up in God. He deserves the glory and all the honor. Beloved, lift Him up! Finally, let's invite God into our hearts and lives. Allow Him to order our steps in His way. Lean on God for support, hope and understanding in those difficult hours and days. With His steadfast love, He won't fail or abandon us. He's able to heal, restore, and lift our spirits to greater heights. Rejoice today, for our God is still a faithful and deserving God!
