How to Get Through Security Screening Issue Free!!
In the Fulllment Center,
geng lots of folks through
the security screening
process in a short amount
of me is a challengingproposion. Here are some
ps that will assist you in
geng through issue free:
Items not to bring into the
warehouse:
Phones, electronics,
cigarees, lighters are not
allowed on the producon
oor. Leave these items in
your locker. Remember
that no weapons/knives areallowed on Amazon premis-
es.
Items that delay screening:
Coins, car keys, metal
watches, metal belt
buckles, metal jewelry,
such as bracelets, are all
items that can delay
screening by alerng the
metal detector. Thisscanner is similar to those
in airports. When the metal
detector is alerted you
must take the items out of
your pockets and move to
secondary screening. This
consists of our Security
team using a wand to assist
in this eort. You may be
asked to raise your pant
legs, empty your pockets,
raise your cap, as well asother precauonary
measures also.
What about sweatshirts,
jackets, and vests?
You should wear your
outerwear through the
metal detectors. Whatever
is not worn through has to
be hand screened
addionally. Wear headgear and gloves through,
too. Anything put on the
slide table must be
screened by the security
ocer, which takes more
me.
Bags & Packages:
Purses, food/drink
containers, etc. will be
opened for inspecon upon
exing. Associates may beasked to move or remove
contents in order to com-
plete a full inspecon.
Clear, see-through fanny
packs or bags are best to
inspect quickly.

Greengs Campers!! Well, the year is half over and it is starng to get warm here in Kansas. As most of you know we had an O Peak sea-son this year, so right now there are 49 Campers in the building and there will be 10 more in July. Make sure you thank these folks when
you get here as they have tested out all the new processes for you!
The Back ground check process will be much easier this year, no papers to fax or ll out. The process is enrely online and has worked very
well. The drug screening process has changed as well. This year you will receive an email at the proper me and you will ll out an online
form telling us where you are at that me. Then you will receive back an email with a authorizaon code, a locaon and a 3 day window to
get your drug test done. Again this new process is working very well.
So as not to disappoint you, we have also changed a lot of things in the building so you can experience that Brand New feeling again. You
will sll recognize everything I promise!! Be careful out there and have a safe summer. We are looking forward to seeing you real soon!
Fernley is known as the crossroads: I-80 and highways 95 and 50 all trisect here. It is also the starting point of highway 50,
known as the loneliest road in America. Fernley offers a rural lifestyle with Reno, NVs big city amenities just a 30 minute
drive away.
Set in the Eastern foothills of the Virginia Mountain Range, Fernley boasts spectacular mountain views. Hiking, camping
and water recreational areas are all within a short drive from Fernley, while the ski resorts of the Lake Tahoe area are only
90 minutes away.
Many Fortune 500 companies have distribution centers in the Nevada Industrial Park, including Amazon, Trex, Johns
Manville, MSC Industrial Direct, UPS Worldwide Logistics, Quebecor World Nevada, Sherwin-Williams and several other
companies with national prominence.
If you are looking for a fun day trip you can try Carson City, Nevada. As the capital of Nevada, Carson City offers a pleth-
ora of recreational activities. Go ice skating in the Arlington Square Ice Rink, take your pet to the numerous dog-friendly
parks, hike the wealth of trails, and simply soak in the beauty that surrounds you in this historic city. Travel Estimate from
Fernley: 59 minutes / 49.66 miles.
One of the recurring quesons we get here at SDF-1 is When will we get start dates? We know how frustrang it can
be when you dont know your start date, so we want to take some of the mystery away from the process.
So how are start dates determined? Each year our nancial teams, both here and in Seale determine our labor
stang needs for the holiday season based on business models, projecons, and past history. In the months leading up
to the 4th quarter, theyve studied and analyzed what our labor stang needs will be. Once those determinaons
have been made, theyll give us start dates and the number of CamperForce associates needed to start each week.
During Peak season, typically well have a new group starng each week through early November. In example, Septem-
ber 16th may be our rst start date, and on that date we may need 75 CamperForce associates to start. Finance will tellus what departments and shis need stang as well as the number needed. The CamperForce team will look at the
informaon you provided during your telephone interview regarding your availability date and preferences with the
available posions and shis. We take your preferences into account and try to accommodate your requests, but some-
mes it just isnt possible. Posions are lled based upon the needs of Amazon at the me of arrival and quite oen
those needs change frequently. Usually, well have a much beer idea about start dates later in the summer, usually
around mid-July. Well let you know ASAP!

Campground Reservation Guidelines
We are excited about you joining us in the fall for the 2013 Holiday Peak Season! A smooth transitionfrom road mode to camp mode begins with good communications concerning your campground
reservations. This information will guide you through that process so that you can be assured there is a
place for you when you arrive at your destination.Although Amazon is not and does not want to be in the campground business, it is important to us thatyou have campground accommodations that meet your needs and desires. It is equally important that we
know which campground you have chosen, and any changes that may occur before and during your stay.
Therefore, please use the following guidelines when you plan your stay:
1. Make a reservation: It is up to you to make a reservation at the Amazon-approved campground of yourchoice. You will be provided with your sites approved campground information when you are hired. We suggest youmake the reservation as soon as possible after you have completed the initial hiring process.
2. Call our Amazon CamperForce hotline or email your Amazon site: Please call your location (contact
info is found on page 2 of the Newsletter) or email them and let them know where you have a reservation. We needyour name, contact information in case we have a question, and the name of the campground where you have thereservation.
3. Keep in touch with your campground: Make sure your campground has your updated contact infor-mation, and inform them of any changes in your hire date, travel plans, etc.
4. What Amazon pays for: We know you may need some time to rest up and set up camp before you startwork; and may need a day in final preparation to hit the road again. Therefore, in addition to paying the campgroundfor your campsite for all days of your employment, Amazon will also pay for two days before your start date and oneday after your release date. If you decide to come earlier or stay later, those arrangements are between you and thecampground owner.
5.If you change your campgrounds before you arrive: We understand you may want to change fromone campground to another before your arrival. For example, you initially booked at campground A and then foundout you have friends coming, and they are booked at Campground B. Its OK to change the reservations as long as(a) the original campground is notified before your arrival and the reservation there is cancelled; and (b) the newcampground of your choice can accommodate you. If you make such a change, you must also notify Amazon. (see#2 above).
6.If you change campgrounds after you arrive: We understand that there may also be some movementbetween campgrounds (premium site at another campground opens up or you want to be next to your friends, forexample). We dont have any issues with someone moving as long as the original campground is notified in a timelymanner and the new campground can accommodate the move. Be sure you vacate the site before the checkouttime, or you may be held responsible for the extra day! If you make a move for any reason, the same guidelines ap-
ply, including notifying Amazon of the move!
On behalf of the Amazon CamperForce Sta and the Campground Owners, we appreciate your cooperaon
with these reservaon guidelines. We sincerely hope your stay is comfortable and rewarding!
