Developed new 2014 Corporate Communications Strategy for Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII). Developed targeted messages directed at audiences; planned for high-profile events, such as congressional visits and media visits to industrial manufacturing sites.

Developed acquisition communications planning checklist and steered development of the communications plan for HII's first two acquisitions that took place in January and June 2014. …SOCIAL MEDIA & EVENT DESIGN: Develop aggressive campaigns to drive brand awareness and maximize exposure.

Developed and guided HII's initial Social Media Strategy and policy. Expanded corporate social media footprint on multiple channels and established social media processes across the enterprise. Facebook "likes" increased by 97% and Twitter followers by 65% during 2013, while LinkedIn followers grew by 144%.

Designed a strategy to grow the fan base for the Aircraft Carrier Facebook page with fresh content ideas and Facebook advertising. Prompted growth of the carrier page by 800% in one year positioning the fan base as a viable factor in future advocacy campaigns needed to influence elected officials. Current Facebook fans now exceed 415,000.…ORCHESTRATE INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS: Develop and drive HII's enterprise communications efforts to promote corporate goals and initiatives and support executive knowledge.

Initiated HII's "Daily Clips" and distributed across the HII enterprise to reach 400+ HII executives and key staff.

Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) designs, builds and manages the life-cycle of the most complex nuclear- and conventionally powered ships for the U.S. Navy and Coast Guard.  HII also provides engineering and project management services expertise to the commercial energy industry, the Department of Energy, and other government customers. HII employs 39,000+ people operating both domestically and internationally.Design and sustain comprehensive corporate communications scaffold and strategy to advance HII's brand and reputation, ensuring target markets understand HII's vision, mission, products, commitments, and values. Direct diverse team comprising News Bureau Manager, Webmaster, and Social Media Coordinator, and align communications efforts across corporate, division, and subsidiary stakeholders. Develop and update mixed communications plans addressing diverse corporate products, HR initiatives, and campaigns. Conceived and oversaw design of 15 novel "Hard Stuff Done Right" videos featuring HII managers and technical specialists. Socialized videos on HII website, Intranet, and social media channels.

Launched HII's Flickr, YouTube, Tumblr, and LinkedIn accounts, and leveraged internal and external organizations to support ongoing campaigns, such as the high-profile nuclear powered aircraft carrier capture campaign.

Coordinated with corporate staff as well as division and corporate communications directors to foster rapid support for pivotal communication opportunities, such as the 2013 shipyard visit by President Barack Obama, the 2012 government VIP visit by House Armed Services Committee Chairmen Howard "Buck" McKeon (R-CA), the Army/Navy Game, Department of Defense Bloggers Roundtables, and many other key communication engagement opportunities.

Developed and wrote the corporate communications Crisis Communications Plan to help protect HII’s image and credibility, and enhance its ability to recover from the crisis.
